Cloning and sequence of guinea pig interleukin 2 (IL-2)

Archives of Toxicology, 1998
Interleukin 2 (IL-2) is a T-cell proliferation factor released from TH0- and TH1-type helper T-cells and is an essential cytokine for certain immune responses. We reported here cloning and sequence of IL-2 cDNA in guinea pigs, which have been used for a long time in various immunological experiments and in vivo screening tests for skin sensitization ...

Human interleukin-2 (IL-2) expressed by transfected mammalian cells

Pflügers Archiv European Journal of Physiology, 1996
cDNA for human interleukin-2 (IL-2) was cloned into the pRc/RSV vector for expression in animal cells. Baby hamster kidney (BHK-21) cells and Chinese hamster ovary (CHO) cells were transfected several times using calcium phosphate and electroporation methods with the construct pRc/RSV SIGIL2. Different transfection efficiencies were obtained.

A monoclonal antibody 7G7/B6, binds to an epitope on the human interleukin-2 (IL-2) receptor that is distinct from that recognized by IL-2 or anti-Tac.

Hybridoma, 1985
Murine splenocytes immune to influenza virus-activated human T-cells were fused with SP2/0 cells, selected in chemically defined HAT media, and subcloned to yield a monoclonal antibody (MAb) termed 7G7/B6.

Interleukin 2 (IL-2)

1998

Effects of isoprinosine and NPT 15392 on interleukin-2 (IL-2) production

International Journal of Immunopharmacology, 1986
Two purine immunoenhancing drugs, isoprinosine and NPT 15392, were evaluated as inducers of IL-2 or enhancers of IL-2 induction by phytohemagglutinin (PHA). Both drugs were found to have significant enhancing activity on PHA induction of IL-2 by human lymphocytes over a wide range of concentrations.

Interleukin-2 (IL-2) and its receptor

Medical Oncology and Tumor Pharmacotherapy, 1986
The interleukin-2 (IL-2) receptor system which is responsible for T-cell cycle progression is a unique hormone-receptor system in that both the ligand and the receptor need to be induced. In the present article I will review the biological and molecular characteristics of IL-2 and its receptor, as well as the differential triggering and growth ...

Interleukin 2 receptor regulation and IL-2 function in the human infant

Human Immunology, 1998
IL-2 receptor is expressed at low levels on adult blood lymphocytes, and at lower levels on cord blood cells. IL-2 receptor alpha and beta chain expression increases gradually from 0-18 months of age. The level of soluble CD25 (IL-2 receptor alpha chain) has been reported to be elevated in cord blood. Quantitative RT-PCR showed that adult cells express

Interleukin-2 (IL-2) Production by Human B-Cell Line

Cellular Immunology, 1994
A human B-cell line (Hairy-BM) constitutively secreting interleukin-2 (IL-2) was established from tumor tissue resected surgically from a patient with breast cancer. Hairy-BM was found to be 100% CD20+, 98% surface immunoglobulin (sIg) G+, 98% sIg kappa chain+, 100% HLA-DR+, 94% IL-2 receptor (IL-2R alpha), 98% IL-2R beta, and devoid of T-cell ...

The development of anti-interleukin-2 (IL-2) antibodies in cancer patients treated with recombinant IL-2

European Journal of Cancer, 1994
Serum samples from 217 cancer patients participating in phase I/II clinical trials were analysed for the development of anti-interleukin-2 (IL-2) antibodies. Patients received recombinant human IL-2 (rIL-2) by continuous intravenous infusion (c.i.v.; n = 86) or by subcutaneous (s.c.) injections (n = 131).

Histamine Blocks Interleukin 2 (IL-2) Gene Expression and Regulates IL-2 Receptor Expression

Immunopharmacology and Immunotoxicology, 1990
Histamine inhibited the proliferative response of human peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMC) to the T cell mitogen Phytohemagglutinin-P (PHA-P) in a dose-dependent fashion. This inhibition was mediated via the H2 receptor since cimetidine, a known H2 antagonist, removed the inhibition, whereas the addition of the H1 antagonist Diphenhydramine did ...
