Decreased synthesis of interleukin-2 (IL-2) in insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus

Diabetes, 1984
Synthesis of interleukin-2 (IL-2) by lymphocytes from 26 insulin-dependent diabetic subjects (IDDM) was compared with that by lymphocytes from 24 nondiabetic control subjects. The control group produced 1.001 ± 0.071 U/ml (mean ± SEM). The IDDM group, containing patients diagnosed between 5 days and 10 yr before testing, produced only 0.59 ± 0.050 U/ml

Phosphorylation of human interleukin-2 (IL-2)

Molecular and Cellular Biochemistry, 1989
Human interleukin-2 (IL-2) is a lymphokine which is capable of activating lymphocytes and supporting the long-term in vitro growth of activated T cell clones. Recombinant human IL-2, expressed in either E. coli or cos cells, was shown to be phosphorylated by protein kinase C. Phosphorylated IL-2 synthesized in E.

Interleukin 2 (IL-2)

1998

Histamine Blocks Interleukin 2 (IL-2) Gene Expression and Regulates IL-2 Receptor Expression

Immunopharmacology and Immunotoxicology, 1990
Histamine inhibited the proliferative response of human peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMC) to the T cell mitogen Phytohemagglutinin-P (PHA-P) in a dose-dependent fashion. This inhibition was mediated via the H2 receptor since cimetidine, a known H2 antagonist, removed the inhibition, whereas the addition of the H1 antagonist Diphenhydramine did ...

Transcription and translation dependent induction of interleukin 2 (IL-2) and IL-2 receptors

Immunology Letters, 1984
Our previous findings on the expression of Interleukin 2 (IL-2) receptors have shown that under the influence of certain drugs, it was possible to dissociate IL-2 production from the appearance of IL-2 receptors on human peripheral blood lymphocytes (PBL).

The role of interleukin-2 (IL-2) in the differentiatin of cytotoxic T cells: the effect of monoclonal anti-IL-2 antibody and absorption with IL-2 dependent T cell lines.

Journal of Immunology, 1981
A variety of approaches, including the use of a monoclonal antibody, have indicated that the lymphokine Interleukin 2 is a necessary and sufficient mediator for initiating cytotoxic T cell differentiation in vitro.

Human interleukin-2 (IL-2) expressed by transfected mammalian cells

Pflügers Archiv European Journal of Physiology, 1996
cDNA for human interleukin-2 (IL-2) was cloned into the pRc/RSV vector for expression in animal cells. Baby hamster kidney (BHK-21) cells and Chinese hamster ovary (CHO) cells were transfected several times using calcium phosphate and electroporation methods with the construct pRc/RSV SIGIL2. Different transfection efficiencies were obtained.

Interleukin-2 (IL-2) Production by Human B-Cell Line

Cellular Immunology, 1994
A human B-cell line (Hairy-BM) constitutively secreting interleukin-2 (IL-2) was established from tumor tissue resected surgically from a patient with breast cancer. Hairy-BM was found to be 100% CD20+, 98% surface immunoglobulin (sIg) G+, 98% sIg kappa chain+, 100% HLA-DR+, 94% IL-2 receptor (IL-2R alpha), 98% IL-2R beta, and devoid of T-cell ...
