Natural killer (NK) cells as a responder to interleukin 2 (IL 2). I. Proliferative response and establishment of cloned cells.

open access: yesJournal of Immunology, 1983
The proliferative response of murine natural killer (NK) cells to a T cell growth factor, interleukin 2 (IL 2) was investigated by using the NK-enriched, low-density fractions (F.1) and NK-depleted, T cell-enriched, and high-density fractions (F.3) of ...

Leukotrienes provide an NFAT-dependent signal that synergizes with IL-33 to activate ILC2s. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Group 2 innate lymphoid cells (ILC2s) and type 2 helper T cells (Th2 cells) are the primary source of interleukin 5 (IL-5) and IL-13 during type 2 (allergic) inflammation in the lung.

Spontaneous Expression of Interleukin-2 In Vivo in Specific Tissues of Young Mice [PDF]

open access: yes, 1998
In situ hybridization and immunohistochemistry were used to determine the spectrum of tissues in which interleukin-2 (IL-2) mRNA and protein are found in healthy, normal young mice.

Deprenyl, an old drug with new anticancer potential: Mini review [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2021
The anticancer potential of monoamine oxidase (MAO) was observed in pre-clinical assays conducted with cell cultures and animals. L-Deprenyl (DEP) causes apoptosis in melanoma, leukemia and mammary cells. High-dose DEP has shown toxicity in mammary and pituitary cancers, as well as in monoblastic leukemia, in rats.

Characterization of antigen-specific CD4+ effector T cells in vivo: immunization results in a transient population of MEL-14-, CD45RB- helper cells that secretes interleukin 2 (IL-2), IL-3, IL-4, and interferon gamma

open access: yesJournal of Experimental Medicine, 1991
In previous studies we demonstrated that, following activation by mitogens or alloantigens, helper T cell precursors proliferate and differentiate in vitro to produce a population of effector cells that secrete high titers of lymphokines upon ...

Interleukin-2 (IL-2) production and interleukin-2 receptor expression in patients with aplastic anemia

open access: yesChinese Journal of Cancer Research, 1991
IL-2 production and IL-2 receptor (Tac antigen) of the peripheral blood mononuclear cells in 30 patients with aplastic anemic (AA) were studied. We found that mononuclear cells from patients produce spontaneously IL-2 in the absence of exogenous lectin stimulation, the proportion of Tac+ cells in mononuclear cells increased.

Interleukin-2 in Renal Cell Carcinoma: A Has-Been or a Still-Viable Option?

open access: yesJournal of Kidney Cancer and VHL, 2014
Modulation of the immune response plays an important role in the natural history of renal cell carcinoma.  Spontaneous regression of metastases has been well documented in a small percentage of patients after they undergo de-bulking nephrectomy without ...

Preassembly of interleukin 2 (IL-2) receptor subunits on resting Kit 225 K6 T cells and their modulation by IL-2, IL-7, and IL-15: a fluorescence resonance energy transfer study.

open access: yesProceedings of the National Academy of Sciences of the United States of America, 1997
Assembly and mutual proximities of alpha, beta, and gamma(c) subunits of the interleukin 2 receptors (IL-2R) in plasma membranes of Kit 225 K6 T lymphoma cells were investigated by fluorescence resonance energy transfer (FRET) using fluorescein ...

Protein kinase B controls transcriptional programs that direct cytotoxic T cell fate but is dispensable for T cell metabolism [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
SummaryIn cytotoxic T cells (CTL), Akt, also known as protein kinase B, is activated by the T cell antigen receptor (TCR) and the cytokine interleukin 2 (IL-2). Akt can control cell metabolism in many cell types but whether this role is important for CTL

Low-dose interleukin-2 reverses chronic migraine-related sensitizations through peripheral interleukin-10 and transforming growth factor beta-1 signaling [PDF]

open access: yes, 2022
Low-dose interleukin-2 (LD-IL-2) treatment has been shown to effectively reverse chronic migraine-related behaviors and the sensitization of trigeminal ganglion (TG) neurons through expansion and activation of peripheral regulatory T cells (Tregs) in ...
