Optimal personalized therapies in colon-cancer induced immune response using a Fokker-Planck framework [PDF]
In this paper, a new stochastic framework to determine optimal combination therapies in colon cancer-induced immune response is presented. The dynamics of colon cancer is described through an It\"o stochastic process, whose probability density function evolution is governed by the Fokker-Planck equation.

Interleukin-2 druggability is modulated by global conformational transitions controlled by a helical capping switch. [PDF]
Interleukin-2 (IL-2) is a small α-helical cytokine that regulates immune cell homeostasis through its recruitment to a high-affinity heterotrimeric receptor complex (IL-2Rα/IL-2Rβ/γc).

Cannabinoid receptors negatively regulate adenylate cyclase through a pertussis toxin-sensitive GTP-binding protein. In the present studies, signaling via the adenylate cyclase/cAMP pathway was investigated in the murine thymoma-derived T-cell line, EL4 ...

Ciprofloxacin reduces the stimulation of prostaglandin E2 output by interleukin-1 in human tendon-derived cells [PDF]
Fluoroquinolone antibiotics such as ciprofloxacin can induce tendon pathology and have various effects on tendon-derived cells in culture. We are investigating whether ciprofloxacin modifies signalling responses in tendon cells.

Effects of delayed immune-response in tumor immune-system interplay [PDF]
Tumors constitute a wide family of diseases kinetically characterized by the co-presence of multiple spatio-temporal scales. So, tumor cells ecologically interplay with other kind of cells, e.g. endothelial cells or immune system effectors, producing and exchanging various chemical signals.

IL-13R alpha 2 reverses the effects of IL-13 and IL-4 on bronchial reactivity and acetylcholine-induced Ca2+ signaling [PDF]
Background: The interleukins IL-4 and IL-13 play a key role in the pathophysiology of asthma. The interleukin receptor IL-13R alpha 2 is believed to act as a decoy receptor, but until now, the functional significance of IL-13R alpha 2 remains vague ...

Naive T cells require interleukin 4 (IL-4) to develop into IL-4- producing T cells and IL-4 blocks development of such cells into interferon gamma (IFN-gamma) producers.

Influence of oxidative stress, diaphragm fatigue, and inspiratory muscle training on the plasma cytokine response to maximum sustainable voluntary ventilation [PDF]
The influence of oxidative stress, diaphragm fatigue, and inspiratory muscle training (IMT) on the cytokine response to maximum sustainable voluntary ventilation (MSVV) is unknown.

Relationship between serum level of interleukin-2 in patients with systemic lupus erythematosus and disease activity in comparison with control group [PDF]
Background: Despite the large number of surveys, there are not any validated biomarkers for SLE disease activity till now. This study aimed to evaluate the relationship between serum level of IL-2 in patients with SLE and disease activity in comparison ...
