Stabilization of a Heat‐ODE System Cascaded at a Boundary Point and an Intermediate Point

Asian Journal of Control, 2017
AbstractThis paper considers the stabilization of a heat‐ODE system cascaded at a boundary point and an intermediate point. The stabilizing feedback control law is designed by the backstepping method. Based on a novel transformation, we prove that all the kernel functions in the forward and inverse transformations are of the class C2.

Point contact spectroscopy of intermediate valence compounds

Journal of Applied Physics, 1982
We measured the dynamic resistance dU/dI (U) of point contacts with intermediate valent (IV) ‘‘gold’’ SmS and IV ferromagnetic TmSe0.82Te0.18 at liquid helium temperatures. Similar as for IV SmB6 and TmSe, on which we reported earlier, dU/dI (U) for ‘‘gold’’ SmS exhibits a strong resistance peak at zero bias with a width of 6.5 mV, which we take as ...

Validation of Intermediate End Points in Cancer Research

JNCI: Journal of the National Cancer Institute, 1990
Investigations using intermediate end points as cancer surrogates are quicker, smaller, and less expensive than studies that use malignancy as the end point. We present a strategy for determining whether a given biomarker is a valid intermediate end point between an exposure and incidence of cancer.

Elimination of a Misfolded Folding Intermediate by a Single Point Mutation

Biochemistry, 2004
We present an analysis of the folding behavior of the 159-residue major birch pollen allergen Bet v 1. The protein contains a water-filled channel running through it. Consequently, the protein has a hydrophobic shell, rather than a hydrophobic core.
