RXJ0636 — A new intermediate polar

AIP Conference Proceedings, 2006
We report the identification of RXJ0636 as a new intermediate polar. The system’s light curves and spectral analysis, together with a variety of its physical parameters are presented. A brief description of the observations leading to the above mentioned identification is also given.

Reactivity of Polar Organometallic Intermediates

1990
Conversions via polar organometallic intermediates are among the most frequently applied procedures in organic synthesis. Since chemists usually strive to attain satisfactory yields of products with the highest possible purity, considerable effort must be expended in finding the most favorable reaction conditions.

Intermediate polarization of type I bursts

Solar Physics, 1975
A constant polarization degree was found in groups of type I bursts having intermediate polarization for all the duration of the group. The same circumstance was verified also for analogous bursts present during a type IV event. The consequences of this behaviour, considering also the results of some recent papers, is discussed. The polarization amount

Polarization in intermediate energy inelastic scattering

Physical Review C, 1981
The simple relationship between the elastic polarization and elastic cross section derived previously is generalized to include inelastic processes. The resulting data-to-data relations express the inelastic polarization in terms of the corresponding unpolarized scattering distribution and two spin ''lengths'' related to the relative strength and range

Torques and instabilities in intermediate polars

Astrophysics and Space Science, 1996
The observed spin periods of the primaries in intermediate polars require the presence of torques additional to the standard expectation of material and magnetic torques from an accretion disc. In an extension of earlier work by Wickramasinghe, Wu and Ferrario, from rates of mass transfer deduced from optical and X-ray fluxes, and assuming surface ...

On the power in intermediate polars

New Astronomy Reviews, 2000
Abstract I review some of the more interesting recent results on Intermediate Polars, with an emphasis on the information content of their periodic intensity variations, as provided by power spectra. The current definitions of the class are discussed, and new contenders listed with their properties.
