Colloidal aggregation in the intermediate regimes

1992
We have studied salt induced aggregation of polystyrene latex in an intermediate region between DLCA and RLCA. The average cluster mass is found to grow according to a power law ( ?α tz) with an exponent z varying with the salt concentration C. Furthermore we find that at high C (DLCA) the fractal dimension d f is stable in time and equal to 1.65.

Socialist Cuba and the Intermediate Regimes of Jamaica and Guyana

World Development, 1981
Abstract Jamaica, Guyana and Cuba are examined using Kalecki's framework of the ‘intermediate regime’. Jamaica most clearly fits that category and Cuba least. This categorization should allow a differentiation among countries in terms of the policies needed to stabilize such a regime.

The Application of MAS Recoupling Methods in the Intermediate Motional Regime

Journal of Magnetic Resonance, 2002
We present investigations concerning the effect of molecular motions on the experimental timescale upon the recoupling of anisotropic interactions under magic-angle spinning conditions. An approach for the efficient simulation of spin dynamics occurring during complex pulse sequences, based on a linearization of the general solution of the stochastic ...

One-body dissipation at intermediate nuclear connection regimes

Physical Review C, 1992
We calculate the one-body dissipation function, appropriate for a heavy-ion collision, as a function of the size of the neck connecting the two nuclei.

Behavior of Two-Temperature Model in Intermediate Hypersonic Regime

Journal of Thermophysics and Heat Transfer, 1999
Shock standoffdistancefora sphereis calculated to examine thebehavioroftheexisting two-temperature model in theintermediate hypersonic e ow regime. Calculations are carried outforthreebinary scaling parametervalues, corresponding to nearly frozen, nonequilibrium, and nearly equilibrium e ows, respectively.

Volume index gratings in the intermediate and form-birefringence regimes

Applied Optics, 2002
We present a study of volume index gratings operating in the form-birefringence regime and what we call the intermediate regime, defined as the regime between form birefringence and the onset of diffraction. The operating regime is characterized by the ratio between the measurement wavelength and the grating period: form birefringence regime below 10 ...

Intermediate tunnelling–hopping regime in DNA charge transport

Nature Chemistry, 2015
Charge transport in molecular systems, including DNA, is involved in many basic chemical and biological processes, and its understanding is critical if they are to be used in electronic devices. This important phenomenon is often described as either coherent tunnelling over a short distance or incoherent hopping over a long distance.
