Electro‐Chemo‐Mechanical Coupling in Composite Cathodes of Sulfide‐Based All‐Solid‐State Batteries: Pathways, Degradation, and Design Rules

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This review provides an integrated framework for achieving superior electrochemical performance in sulfide‐based all‐solid‐state batteries. It first delineates mechano‐electrochemical failure modes of cathode active materials and solid electrolytes, then outlines engineering principles for particle morphology, electronic and ionic conduction, and ...

Self-Excited Multifractal Dynamics

open access: yes, 2011
We introduce the self-excited multifractal (SEMF) model, defined such that the amplitudes of the increments of the process are expressed as exponentials of a long memory of past increments.

Unraveling Hydride‐Driven Multiphasic Reduction Toward Tunable Germanium Structures for Lithium‐Ion Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The sodium hydride (NaH)‐mediated reduction of germanium dioxide yields distinct Ge structures depending on the amount of reductant, revealing the dual roles of NaH in the reduction pathways. The synthesized Ge under off‐stoichiometric conditions exhibits a porous morphology and reduced crystallinity, which effectively mitigates volume expansion during

Toward Complete CO2 Electroconversion: Status, Challenges, and Perspectives

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
Electrocatalytic CO2 reduction and CO2 batteries face challenges in achieving complete CO2 conversion with high conversion rates and Faradaic efficiency simultaneously. Existing systems compromise one for the other with incomplete CO2 conversion and inefficiencies, hindering practical applications. This perspective highlights state‐of‐the‐art progress,

Fabrication of Composite Cathode for All‐Solid‐State Sodium Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
The design of composite cathodes for all‐solid‐state sodium batteries must address three critical challenges—interfacial side reactions, interfacial delamination, and highly tortuous transport pathways. This work outlines structural and interfacial strategies to optimize ion transport and mechanical stability, enabling durable, and high‐performance ...

Reward versus retaliation - the role of the mesocorticolimbic salience network in human reactive aggression

open access: yesFrontiers in Behavioral Neuroscience, 2016
The propensity for reactive aggression (RA) which occurs in response to provocation has been linked to hyperresponsivity of the mesocorticolimbic reward network in healthy adults.

Breaking the Durability–Power Trade‐Off: Boron‐Directed Faceted O3 Cathodes for High‐Rate Sodium‐Ion Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
Boron‐oxide‐assisted particle engineering stabilizes O3‐type layered cathodes for sodium‐ion batteries by mitigating phase transitions and lattice strain. Acting as flux and structural modifier, boron forms submicron hexagonal platelets with (003) facets and expanded Na‐layer spacing, enabling rapid Na⁺ diffusion and mechanical resilience.
