Dynamic approach to solve the daily drayage problem with travel time uncertainty [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
The intermodal transport chain can become more e cient by means of a good organization of drayage movements. Drayage in intermodal container terminals involves the pick up and delivery of containers at customer locations, and the main objective is ...

Description of paramagnetic--spin glass transition in Edwards-Anderson model in terms of critical dynamics

open access: yes, 2006
Possibility of description of the glass transition in terms of critical dynamics considering a hierarchy of the intermodal relaxation time is shown. The generalized Vogel-Fulcher law for the system relaxation time is derived in terms of this approach. It

Reframing Airport Choice in Platform Logistics: The Case of Amazon Air

open access: yesTransportation Journal, Volume 65, Issue 1, Winter 2026.
ABSTRACT While the substantial growth of e‐commerce has transformed air cargo from a peripheral service into a major revenue source in air transportation, airports, key nodes in this network, have increasingly benefited from this shift. The emergence of new players such as Amazon Air has significantly influenced the revenue growth trajectories of many ...

Intermodal, urban, mobil – Charakterisierung intermodaler Wege und Nutzer am Beispiel Berlin

open access: yesRaumforschung und Raumordnung, 2017
Intermodal travel behaviour – the combination of different modes on a single trip – is increasingly taken into consideration in everyday mobility. In particular, urban areas face negative consequences from high car traffic and scarce parking space ...

From Fibre Basket to Fibre Boiler: Climate Change, Bioenergy, and Making Waste in the Political Forest

open access: yesAntipode, Volume 58, Issue 2, 2026.
Abstract In British Columbia (BC), Canada, industry advocates are increasingly mobilising bioenergy as a renewable and carbon neutral fuel source in energy transition and climate change mitigation strategies. At the same time, changing climate conditions have exacerbated the extent and severity of beetle and fire activity in the region, and trees ...

Self‐Creation of Accelerated Temporal Mirrors

open access: yesAdvanced Physics Research, Volume 5, Issue 2, February 2026.
The field of temporal analog effects is rapidly emerging and seen as a driver of a paradigm shift in photonics. It promises striking new phenomena but remains experimentally challenging. This work introduces a mechanism that automatically creates a temporal mirror with simple optical means, unlocking practical access to extreme nonlinear dynamics and ...

SUMO2015 - Intermodal Simulation for Intermodal Transport

open access: yes, 2015
Dear reader, You are holding in your hands a volume of the series „Reports of the DLR-Institute of Transportation Systems“. We are publishing in this series fascinating, scientific topics from the Institute of Transportation Systems of the German Aerospace Center (Deutsches Zentrum für Luft- und Raumfahrt e.V. - DLR) and from his environment.

Quantum Zeno effect and nonclassicality in a PT symmetric system of coupled cavities

open access: yes, 2018
The interplay between the nonclassical features and the parity-time (PT) symmetry (or its breaking) is studied here by considering a PT symmetric system consisting of two cavities with gain and loss.

Toward precision oncology: An integrative multi‐omics approach for prognosis prediction and inferred immunotherapy responsiveness in breast cancer

open access: yesClinical and Translational Discovery, Volume 6, Issue 1, February 2026.
We integrated four omics to build a breast cancer immunotherapy predictor. Survival‐associated biomarkers were compressed into 200 latent features via an autoencoder, then refined using three survival models. K‐means defined two subgroups (C1, high‐risk and C2, low‐risk).

Scanning of Vehicles for Nuclear Materials

open access: yes, 2013
Might a nuclear-armed terrorist group or state use ordinary commerce to deliver a nuclear weapon by smuggling it in a cargo container or vehicle? This delivery method would be the only one available to a sub-state actor, and it might enable a state to ...
