How to monitor sustainable mobility in cities? Literature review in the frame of creating a set of sustainable mobility indicators [PDF]
The role of sustainable mobility and its impact on society and the environment is evident and recognized worldwide. Nevertheless, although there is a growing number of measures and projects that deal with sustainable mobility issues, it is not so easy to

Transcranial Doppler ultrasound validation of BOLD-fMRI cerebral blood flow relationship. [PDF]
Abstract Purpose A precise understanding of the interplay between cerebral blood flow (CBF) and blood oxygen level‐dependent (BOLD) fMRI signals is essential for advancing cerebrovascular research. Although calibrated BOLD approaches often rely on arterial spin labelling (ASL) to estimate CBF, alternative validation using transcranial Doppler ...

Fiber transport of spatially entangled photons [PDF]
Entanglement in the spatial degrees of freedom of photons is an interesting resource for quantum information. For practical distribution of such entangled photons it is desireable to use an optical fiber, which in this case has to support multiple ...

Information Requirements and Legal Framework for Multimodal Transport System Coordination
Background: In multimodal transport the interplay of coordination methods and legal requirements is a challenging task. To address the latter, a combined approach for the coordination of a multimodal passenger transport system in accordance with European

Representationalism and Sensory Modalities: An Argument for Intermodal Representationalism [PDF]
Intermodal representationalists hold that the phenomenal characters of experiences are fully determined by their contents. In contrast, intramodal representationalists hold that the phenomenal characters of experiences are determined by their contents ...

An AI‐Enabled All‐In‐One Visual, Proximity, and Tactile Perception Multimodal Sensor
Targeting integrated multimodal perception of robots, an AI‐enabled all‐in‐one multimodal sensor is proposed. This sensor is capable of perceiving three types of modalities, including vision, proximity, and tactility. By toggling an ultraviolet light and adjusting the camera focus, it switches smoothly between multiple perceptual modalities, enabling ...

Neural Mechanisms of Selective Auditory Attention in Rats (Dissertation) [PDF]
How does attention modulate sensory representations? In order to probe the underlying neural mechanisms, we established a simple rodent model of modality-specific attention.

FLARE, a multimodal AI framework, combines pathology slides, radiology scans, and clinical reports to predict colorectal cancer outcomes, even when some tests are missing. Evaluated retrospectively in 1679 patients from four medical centers, it consistently achieved the best prognostic accuracy and clearly separated high‐ and low‐risk groups.

INTERMODAL TRANSPORT AND STANDARDISATION [PDF]
Almost gone unnoticed, a new era started in rail freight transport. Whereas the conventional “wagonload” rail freight transport stagnates, road-rail Combined Transport (CT) was able to register high growth rates.
