Perspectives on microbial community changes produced by Hermitia illucens frass and their impact on soil suppression against Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. lactucae. [PDF]
Soils amended with chitin or black soldier fly larvae (BSFL) frass reduced Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. lactucae propagules compared to non‐amended soil. Changes observed in microbial communities could be involved. Abstract BACKGROUND Organic soil amendments rich in chitin have demonstrated significant potential promoting suppressive soils.

Seroconversion and Abundance of IgG Antibodies against S1-RBD of SARS-CoV-2 and Neutralizing Activity in the Chilean Population. [PDF]
COVID‐19 is a pandemic caused by SARS‐CoV‐2. In Chile, half a million people have been infected and more than 16,000 have died from COVID‐19. As part of the clinical trial NCT04384588, we quantified IgG against S1‐RBD of SARS‐CoV‐2 (anti‐RBD) in recovered people in Santiago and evaluated their suitability as COVID‐19 convalescent plasma donors.

Comparative anatomy and genetic bases of fruit development in selected Rubiaceae (Gentianales)
Abstract Premise The Rubiaceae are ideal for studying the diversity of fruits that develop from flowers with inferior ovary. We aimed to identify morpho‐anatomical changes during fruit development that distinguish those derived from the carpel versus the extra‐carpellary tissues.

Summary Controlled spatiotemporal cell division and expansion are responsible for floral bilateral symmetry. Genetic studies have pointed to class II TCP genes as major regulators of cell division and floral patterning in model core eudicots. Here we study their evolution in perianth‐bearing Piperales and their expression in Aristolochia, a rare ...
