Electrochemical Hydrodimerization of Furfural in Organic Media as an Efficient Route to Jet Fuel Precursor

open access: yesChemElectroChem, Volume 10, Issue 2, January 17, 2023., 2023
Taking off with hydrofuroin: An efficient strategy for the electrosynthesis of hydrofuroin – a jet fuel precursor – from biomass‐derived furfural is reported. We show that hydrofuroin can be synthesized in organic media in a simple undivided cell with a high faradaic efficiency (up to 74 %) and an excellent yield (up to 100 %).

Dendrite‐Free 3D Lithium Metal Anode Formed in a Cellulose Based Separator for Lithium‐Metal Batteries

open access: yesChemElectroChem, Volume 10, Issue 2, January 17, 2023., 2023
3D lithium electrode: Lithium dendrite free 3 dimensional lithium electrodes were established using a cellulose based separator of Kimwipe in an ether based electrolyte of 1 m LiFSI in 1,4 dioxane and 1,2 dimethylethane (1 : 2 v/v). The lithium electrode was cycled more than 1000 h at 5 mA cm−2 for 1 h polarization.

HCCI combustion – a challenge for internal combustion engine

open access: yesCombustion Engines, 2009
HCCI engine offers a high thermal efficiency combined with low nitrogen oxides and particulate matter emissions. However the key problem: controlled autoignition (CAI) on which is focused this paper is still not solved. Attempts to solve CAI problem as: variable compression ratio (VCR), variable valve train (VVT), exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) and ...
