Nanofluid as a coolant in internal combustion engine – a review

International Journal of Ambient Energy, 2022
Recent power sectors associated with IC engines have a crucial challenge in reducing the size of the cooling system. Currently, investigators are trying to reduce the size of the IC engine cooling system by utilising particular types of coolant in place ...

An Original Internal Combustion Engine [PDF]

open access: possibleSSRN Electronic Journal, 2017
The paper presents a new and original internal-combustion engine. It is presenting a method for determining the kinematics and the efficiency of a new mechanism, MF1, proposed (designed) to work and be tested like an internal-combustion engine. One determines the mechanical momentary efficiency, when the mechanism works like a steamroller and when the ...

Large eddy simulation analysis of the turbulent flow in an optically accessible internal combustion engine using the overset mesh technique

, 2020
Computational fluid dynamics has become a fundamental tool for the design and development of internal combustion engines. The meshing strategy plays a central role in the computational efficiency, in the management of the moving components of the engine ...

Internal Combustion Engines

1961
Publisher Summary This chapter describes the theory and design of internal combustion engines of the piston, turbine, and jet types. It discusses various aspects of the combustion processes and describes the functioning and performance of the engine briefly for purposes of background information.

Hypergolic Combustion in an Internal Combustion Engine

SAE Technical Paper Series, 1985
Hypergolic combustion was experimentally investigated in a reciprocating internal combustion engine by means of preheating the fuel to about 1000/sup 0/F (550/sup 0/C) prior to direct cylinder injection. Ignition delay, exhaust opacity, and the rate of heat release were measured, and the potential for improved engine performance was demonstrated.

Combustion of Syngas in Internal Combustion Engines

Combustion Science and Technology, 2008
The combustion of synthesis gas will play an important role in advanced power systems based on the gasification of fuel feedstocks and combined cycle power production. While the most commonly discussed option is to burn syngas in gas turbine engines, another possibility is to burn the syngas in stationary reciprocating engines. Whether spark ignited or
