Variable grouping patterns in primates: A test of the better competitor hypothesis in male Verreaux's sifaka (Propithecus verreauxi)

open access: yesThe Anatomical Record, EarlyView.
Abstract Intraspecific variation in social organization (IVSO) within primate populations can arise due to male mating competition. Verreaux's sifaka (Propithecus verreauxi) populations exhibit both single‐male and multi‐male groups, providing an opportunity to examine the relationship between male competitive ability and social organization.

Heat Stress in Quail: Impacts on Health and Productivity, and Mitigation Strategies

open access: yesAnimal Research and One Health, EarlyView.
Heat stress disrupts physiological homeostasis in quail, inducing oxidative stress, immune dysregulation, and metabolic imbalance, which impair growth, reproduction, product quality, and welfare. Integrating nutritional, environmental, and genetic–epigenetic strategies enhances thermotolerance, sustains productivity, and supports climate‐smart quail ...

ANK1 and EPB41 Variants and The Risk of Glucocorticoid‐Induced Osteonecrosis

open access: yesArthritis &Rheumatology, EarlyView.
Objective Steroid‐induced osteonecrosis of the femoral head (SONFH) is a refractory skeletal disorder influenced by genetic and environmental factors. However, conclusive pathogenic genetic evidence remains elusive due to the limited exploration of rare damaging variants. In this study, we aimed to identify rare variants associated with SONFH.

Articular Disc Position and Configuration in Internal Derangement of Temporomandibular Joint

open access: yes, 1996
Internal derangement of the temporomandibular joint (TMJ) is defined as a malrelationship among the condylar process, mandibular fossa, and articular disc. It produces changes of the disc position and configuration. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is an

Re‐humanizing anatomy? Learning through human body donors in physiotherapy education

open access: yesAnatomical Sciences Education, EarlyView.
Abstract Anatomical knowledge underpins clinical skills and professional identity in physiotherapy. However, dedicated teaching has declined in recent years. Body donor‐based learning, though common in medical education, is rarely used in physiotherapy.

Symptoms of temporomandibular joint osteoarthrosis and internal derangement 30 years after non-surgical treatment

open access: yes, 1995
To evaluate the long-term condition of temporomandibular joints (TMJs) affected by osteoarthrosis and internal derangement, 99 patients treated non-surgically between 1958 and 1962 were recalled for follow-up.
