Fast generator protection against internal asymmetrical faults
IEEE Transactions on Power Apparatus and Systems, 1977An on-line digital computer technique for the protection of a generator against internal asymmetrical faults is described in this paper. The proposed technique relies on the detection of a second harmonic component in the field current at the onset of a fault in the armature winding.

IEEE transactions on industry applications, 2018
Large induction motors used in variable speed industrial applications (digging, traction, etc.) undergo dynamic stresses at high power levels. Their lifetime is reduced as compared with constant speed motors and downtime costs are very high.

Faults in international showjumping are not random
Comparative Exercise Physiology, 2020Performance analysis (PA) involves the systematic observation and analysis of factors identified to enhance performance to improve athlete decision-making in a specific sport. PA is commonplace in human sports, yet despite potential advantages, its application remains limited in equestrianism.

Contributory Fault in International Investment Arbitration
Journal of International ArbitrationAs a general rule, if a state commits a wrongful act, it is under an obligation to make full reparation for the injury caused. Yet, arbitral tribunals have used the doctrine of contributory fault to reduce the amount of damages awarded to the investor for the state’s breach of an investment treaty. This article analyses fifteen arbitration

Fault Lines of International Legitimacy
2009Fault Lines of International Legitimacy deals with the following questions: What are the features and functions of legitimacy in the international realm? How does international legitimacy, as exemplified in particular by multilateral norms, organizations, and policies, change over time?

The "arc killer": the internal fault suppressor
IET Conference Publications, 2009This paper describes the Arc Killer device. It can detect and suppress an internal arc fault on a secondary distribution switchgear in less than 125 ms. The consequences and the damages due to an internal arc fault are then reduced to the minimum.

Research on Power Capacitor Internal Fault Criterion
2014 Fifth International Conference on Intelligent Systems Design and Engineering Applications, 2014Power capacitor device is a widely used reactive power compensation equipment in power transmission and distribution system which can easily have internal fault and therefore affects the safe operation of the power system. This paper studies the internal structure of the power capacitor and the possible fault of the internal elements, then establishes ...

Internal Fault Characteristics of Gas-Insulated Transformers
Transactions of the American Institute of Electrical Engineers. Part III: Power Apparatus and Systems, 1959Recently developed gas-insulated transformers are taking a prominent position in a field where existing apparatus has a long record of reliable and almost faultless service. The outstanding position of the gas-insulated transformer is due to some fundamental differences between the gases and liquids that are used for the cooling and insulation of ...

Internal fault detection techniques for power transformers
Applied Soft Computing, 2011This paper presents the methodologies for incipient fault detection in power transformers both off-line and on-line. An artificial neural network is used to detect faults off-line with dissolved gas analysis reports of transformers and whereas wavelet transforms are being used for on-line fault detection.

Simulation of internal faults in synchronous generators
IEEE Transactions on Energy Conversion, 1999An internal fault in the armature winding of a synchronous generator occurs due to the breakdown of the winding insulation. In this paper, a method for simulating internal faults in synchronous generators, using direct phase quantities, is described. Simulation results showing the fault currents, during a single phase to ground fault and a two phase to
