Internal Limiting Membrane Peeling
2020The internal limiting membrane (ILM) is composed of the basement membrane of the Muller cells and located at the innermost layer of the retina. For various purposes, the ILM is peeled off in various macular diseases. This surgical technique is used broadly for eyes with epiretinal membrane, macular hole, diabetic macular edema, myopic tractional ...

TRIAMCINOLONE-ASSISTED INTERNAL LIMITING MEMBRANE PEELING
Retina, 2005To review our experience with triamcinolone-assisted pars plana vitrectomy for internal limiting membrane (ILM) peeling for various retinal diseases.Twenty-one patients underwent surgery in which intraoperative triamcinolone acetonide (TA) was used.

Internal Limiting Membrane Insertion
2020In this chapter, we will discuss the internal limiting membrane (ILM) insertion surgery for eyes with macular hole (MH). ‘ILM insertion surgery’ indicates a technique to plug the hole using the ILM, and ‘ILM flap surgery’ is reserved for covering the MH with the ILM as a sheet.

Residual internal limiting membrane in epiretinal membrane surgery
British Journal of Ophthalmology, 2009To examine the degree of the residual internal limiting membrane (ILM) after epiretinal membrane (ERM) peeling.Sixty-one eyes of 59 patients with ERM were enrolled. After ERM peeling, residual ILM was visualised with Brilliant Blue G (BBG). The residual ILM pattern was divided into three groups: (1) residual type (ILM mostly remained), (2) half type ...

Distribution of Neurofilament in Peeled Internal Limiting Membrane
Ophthalmic Surgery, Lasers and Imaging Retina, 2023Background and Objective: The aim was to study the distribution of neurofilament in peeled internal limiting membrane (ILM). Patients and Methods: Prospective case study. Vitrectomy and ILM peeling were performed in patients with epiretinal membrane and macular hole.

Internal Limiting Membrane Flap
2020In this chapter, internal limiting membrane (ILM) flap surgery will be discussed. As mentioned in the first chapter, ‘ILM flap’ indicates a surgical technique to cover a retinal break using the ILM as a sheet, because ‘flap’ refers to a piece of thin material fixed along one edge for covering or closing something literally.

Internal limiting membrane: The innermost retinal barrier
Medical Hypotheses, 2017Recently, peeling of internal limiting membrane (ILM) has become one of the most common and effective surgical procedures for macular disorders. The authors discuss the adverse effects of such procedures and explore the possible functions of the membrane.

Internal Limiting Membrane Peel
2017Risk factors for the development of a membrane are age, posterior vitreous detachment, and a history of a membrane in the fellow eye. Most common cause is idiopathic; however it has been associated with retinal vascular diseases, inflammatory disease, trauma, intraocular tumors, and a history of retinal tear/detachment.
