Anatomy of Internal Limiting Membrane
2020The internal limiting membrane (ILM) is a component of the vitreoretinal interface, which contributes to various diseases including epiretinal membrane (ERM), macular hole and macular edema. The vitreoretinal interface consists of the posterior vitreous cortex, the ILM and an intervening extracellular matrix.

To determine if reducing the area of internal limiting membrane (ILM) peeling in the inverted ILM flap technique results in satisfactory outcomes for the repair of large Stage IV idiopathic macular holes.Prospective comparative interventional study of 87 consecutive eyes. Participants were randomized into two treatment groups.

Familial Internal Limiting Membrane Dystrophy
Archives of Ophthalmology, 1997To describe the clinicopathologic features of a previously unreported retinal dystrophy.Fourteen members of a single family were examined. The medical records of 2 additional family members were reviewed. Pathologic examination was performed on 2 eyes of 1 affected patient.Five individuals were identified with a retinal dystrophy characterized by a ...

Purpose: This study compared anatomical and functional outcomes of the inverted internal limiting membrane flap (ILMF) technique with complete ILM peeling (ILMP) in nonposturing surgery for large, full-thickness macular holes (MHs). Methods: This was a retrospective, comparative, single-surgeon study.
