Nifedipine loaded chitosan microspheres: characterization of internal structure

Biotechnic & Histochemistry, 2001
In the present investigation, a simple technique was employed to obtain cross-sections of unloaded and nifedipine loaded chitosan microspheres. Microspheres, adhering to a polymerized resin block, were cut with an ultramicrotome and viewed with a scanning electron microscope.

Internal loads in the human tibia during gait

Clinical Biomechanics, 2009
Internal loads in long bones are of special interest, for testing and optimization of current implant designs for fracture treatment. Inverse dynamic musculoskeletal models were successfully used to determine the muscle forces in the lower extremities, however the internal loads expressed as forces and moments along the human tibia during gait have not

Plastic loads for internally pressurised torispheres

International Journal of Pressure Vessels and Piping, 1995
Abstract Tests on ten internally pressurised machined steel torispheres are reported. Their mean diameter was 200 mm and the constant wall thickness was 6 mm. Five different configurations were chosen. This meant two test repeats for each geometry. All domes had the same mass and they were loaded up until they burst.

Internal phosphorus loading in Lake Ringsjön

Hydrobiologia, 1999
Lake Ringsjon did not respond with decreased algal production following a substantial reduction in external phosphorus loading. This is typical of many shallow lakes which for decades have received excessive amounts of nutrients. The inertia is due to large amounts of phosphorus (P) stored in sediments and biota, causing internal phosphorus loading ...

[Loading on internal spinal fixation devices].

Der Orthopade, 1999
The loads acting on internal spinal fixation devices were measured for different activities in ten patients using telemeterized bisegmental implants. The highest loads were found for walking and lateral bending of the upper body while standing. When bending forwards the upper body, the fixator loads were only slightly altered.

Apparent Internal Resistance with Load Variation

1965
It must be noted that the voltage amplification changes with variation of the load resistance. Consequently the amount of the input resistance is also altered and according to Eq. (5.14) we can write: $${{r}_{i}}=\frac{{{{r}_{{{{i}_{0}}}}}}}{{1+{{A}_{v}}\cdot {{D}_{v}}}}\approx \frac{{{{r}_{{{{i}_{0}}}}}}}{{1+{{D}_{v}}\cdot S\cdot {{R}_{L}}}}.$$

Critical Loads and International Environmental Cooperation

1992
Critical loads are defined as the maximum deposition of a pollutant that in the long run will not cause any changes in the receiving ecosystem. It is shown that if countries play their open Nash equilibrium strategies, in the long run they will try to approach emissions consistent with the critical loads.
