Late results of telescopic internal mammary-coronary artery anastomosis

Journal of Surgical Research, 1972
Abstract Seven dogs had telescopic anastomosis of the IMA to the LAD or CCA. Twenty-two to twenty-eight months later all anastomoses were patent, but one was severely stenotic and three were moderately stenotic. Of the six dogs that were studied by right-heart bypass four demonstrated deterioration of LV function with IMA occlusion.

Internal Mammary Coronary Artery Anastomosis by Co2Laser: An Acute Experimental Study

Journal of Cardiac Surgery, 1991
This study was designed to determine the feasibility of anastomosing the internal mammary artery (IMA) and coronary artery with a carbon dioxide laser in a canine model. Twenty-two mongrel dogs were randomly assigned to two groups: group I (n = 11) underwent laser-assisted vascular anastomosis (LAVA) of the left IMA to the left anterior descending (LAD)

Internal mammary--coronary artery anastomosis. "No-touch" technique.

The Annals of thoracic surgery, 1976
A simple technique for internal mammary--coronary artery anastomosis that can be applied to all branches of the coronary circulation is described. The anastomosis can be constructed in 10 to 15 minutes. This technique eliminates pinching of the internal mammary artery by forceps.
