Quality and gravity in international trade [PDF]
We show that the effect of fixed costs on international trade is lower in industries with a high degree of vertical product differentiation. We extend an international trade model by endogenous quality investmetns and use both aggregate trade data and firm-level data to estimate gravity equations of exports.

Rapid and nondestructive detection of watercore and sugar content in Asian pear by near infrared spectroscopy for commercial trade [PDF]
Watercore and sugar content are internal qualities which are impossible for exterior determination. Therefore the aims of this study were to develop models for nondestructive detection of watercore and predicting sugar content in pear using Near Infrared

International Prices and Endogenous Quality * [PDF]
Abstract The unit values of internationally traded goods are heavily influenced by quality. We model this in an extended monopolistic competition framework where, in addition to choosing price, firms simultaneously choose quality subject to nonhomothetic demand.
