Louveau's theorem for the descriptive set theory of internal sets

Journal of Symbolic Logic, 1997
AbstractWe give positive answers to two open questions from [15]. (1) For every set C countably determined over , if C is then it must be over , and (2) every Borel subset of the product of two internal sets X and Y all of whose vertical sections are can be represented as an intersection (union) of Borel sets with vertical sections of lower Borel ...

Theories of internal sets

2004
The class ⌷ of all internal sets, or, more exactly, the structure ⌷, is a very important substructure of the nonstandard set universe of HST because it contains many typically nonstandard objects like infinitely large or infinitesimal numbers (see Chapter 2).

Nonstandard Universe based on Internal Set Theory

2004
Abstract This paper is an invitation to look what occurs when tools of Robinson's and Nelson’s Nonstandard Analysis act simultaneoysly. For instance, in this case we have several kinds of infinitesimals in our disposal.

Standard Setting to an International Reference Framework: Implications for Theory and Practice

International Journal of Testing, 2013
Standard setting theory has largely developed with reference to a typical situation, determining a level or levels of performance for one exam for one context. However, standard setting is now being used with international reference frameworks, where some parameters and assumptions of classical standard setting do not hold.

Undecidable hypotheses in Edward Nelson's internal set theory

Russian Mathematical Surveys, 1991
This is one of the very important works on internal set theory (IST) and related set theory. Basic concepts and main results and problems are stated in the introduction (\(\S 1\)). After giving three well-known basic principles in IST, axioms of separation (for example, \(\text{Sep}_ 1\): \((\text{st }X)\exists^{\text{st}} Y \forall^{\text{st}}x\) \((x\

Preserving internal contrast in image fusion using fuzzy sets theory

CCECE '97. Canadian Conference on Electrical and Computer Engineering. Engineering Innovation: Voyage of Discovery. Conference Proceedings, 2002
A new method for the multimodality image fusion, in presence of noise, without compromising the internal contrast, based on fuzzy sets theory, is presented. A simulation has been performed to demonstrate the application and the main features of the proposed method.
