Internal solitary waves in Davis Strait

open access: yes, 1983
Current meters and a thermistor chain deployed in proximity of a drillship over the continental shelf off Baffin Island revealed the presence of large amplitude internal waves.

Autistic Children With Speech Onset Delay Show Reversed Bias in Spectral Versus Temporal Auditory Processing

open access: yesAutism Research, Volume 19, Issue 6, June 2026.
ABSTRACT A recent “hierarchical” reinterpretation of the neurological basis of autism suggests that in autism with early language delay, perceptual processing may be favored over the integration of transmodal information. This model is largely based on neuroimaging findings relating to visual processing, but predicts a corresponding reorganization in ...

Making teaching an attractive profession: What are the challenges and opportunities for minority ethnic teachers in England?

open access: yesBritish Educational Research Journal, Volume 52, Issue 3, Page 1878-1897, June 2026.
Abstract This paper explores the challenges and opportunities surrounding the recruitment and retention of minority ethnic teachers in England. Drawing on interview data from 33 teachers and school leaders of diverse ethnic backgrounds, it investigates whether racialised barriers identified in earlier research have shifted in the current context of ...

Exact Solutions and Nonlinear Dynamical Behavior in a Navier‐Stokes‐Type Model for Elastic Cylindrical Vessels: An Analytical and Computational Approach

open access: yesEngineering Reports, Volume 8, Issue 6, June 2026.
This study investigates a nonlinear Navier‐Stokes‐type model for elastic cylindrical vessels. Exact solutions are derived via the Bäcklund transformation and the ϕ6$$ {\phi}^6 $$‐expansion method, and dynamical behaviors are analyzed using bifurcation and chaos tools, revealing diverse wave structures and parameter‐dependent propagation characteristics.

Large fully nonlinear solitary and solitary-like internal waves in the ocean

open access: yes, 2001
In this thesis we study fully nonlinear internal waves in a stratified ocean. These waves are isolated disturbances that do not change form as they propagate horizontally along the waveguide of the density stratified ocean.

Ultrasound‐Assisted Synthesis and Comprehensive Characterization of Nanosized VO(II), Fe(III), and Ru(III) Complexes: From Density Functional Theory/Nonlinear Optical Properties to Pharmaceutical Applications and Docking Insights

open access: yesChemistryOpen, Volume 15, Issue 6, June 2026.
Ultrasound‐assisted synthesis enabled the formation of ultrafine hydrazone‐based metal complexes with controlled nanostructures and enhanced stability. Density functional theory revealed optimized geometries and electronic properties. The nanosized complexes exhibited superior antimicrobial, anticancer, and antioxidant activities, supported by ...

Cross‐Border Online Radicalization Among Teenagers: Evidence From a Brazilian Case Study

open access: yesPolicy &Internet, Volume 18, Issue 2, June 2026.
ABSTRACT This article examines the theme of transnationality in online radicalization processes through an empirical case. It focuses on a group called ‘The Kiss’, led by a Portuguese teenager (Micazz) who encouraged individuals to carry out acts of violence in Brazil in 2023.
