Abruptly changing from aerobic to anaerobic conditions (sudden anaerobization) induced growth inhibition and a significant increase in intracellular labile ferrous iron in the aerotolerant anaerobe Amphibacillus xylanus. We found that free flavins mediate efficient electron transfer from NADH to ferric iron under anaerobic conditions, suggesting that ...

In a murine model of myocardial ischemia and reperfusion (MI/R), the CD36 azapeptide ligand MPE‐298 reduces cardiac injury and transiently lowers left ventricular long‐chain fatty acids (LCFAs) accumulation 3 h after reperfusion, accompanied by a decrease of oxidative stress and inflammation‐associated genes' expression in the heart and adipose tissue.

Acoustic Interactions with Internal Stresses in Metals
It became evident at the residual stress meeting in San Antonio last yearl that it is necessar2 to restate the definitions for internal stresses. In general, we are talking about three kinds of residual stresses as shown in Table I. The one that's called

POSSIBILITIES OF BURRS ELIMINATION FROM CORES PRODUCED WITH COLD-BOX-AMINE TECHNOLOGY
Actual problem of all foundries that produce core castings with the Cold-Box-Amine methods are surface defects. Most common surface defect are burrs. Therefore it is needed to specify the possibilities for preventing the burrs, or make their occurrence ...

The effect of moisture-induced swelling on the absorption capacity of transversely isotropic elastic polymer-matrix composites [PDF]
The interaction between humid air and transversely isotropic fiber-reinforced composites with swelling polymeric matrix is considered. A model is proposed for the water saturation level in a polymer when stresses are applied, that uses directly ...

Hyperosmotic stress triggers the relocation of the CFIm complex from the nucleus to the cytoplasm. This shift creates a nuclear ‘stoichiometric bottleneck’, limiting CFIm availability for mRNA processing. Consequently, specific mRNAs like NUDT21 and DICER1 undergo targeted 3′UTR shortening, demonstrating how spatial protein dynamics drive rapid ...

USING OF LASER EMISSION FOR ALLOYING SURFACE ALLOYS’ SAMPLES BY TYPE 38XN3MFA
The process of laser and laser-plasma methods of surface alloying of steel samples is investigated. It si determined that in the absence of cracks the structural state of the doped layer is characterized by the formation of dispersed phases in their ...
