Lagrangian coherent structures and internal wave attractors.

open access: yesChaos, 2010
For a nonuniformly stratified layer of fluid, internal gravity waves propagate at varying angles depending on the local buoyancy and Coriolis (in geophysical applications) frequencies.

Cardiac‐Derived ECM Microspheres for Enhanced hiPSC‐CMs Maturation

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Cardiac extracellular matrix microspheres derived from decellularized porcine heart provide a biomimetic 3D microenvironment for human induced pluripotent stem cell–derived cardiomyocytes (hiPSC‐CMs). This platform supports short‐ and long‐term culture, enhances structural organization, and promotes electrophysiological and functional maturation of ...

LIQUID LAYERS MOTION INVESTIGATION

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Research, 2011
The diffraction motion of two layers of the incompressible heavy liquid around the vertical circular support column is investigated. The hard cover approaching is used to distinguish internal wave alone. The research data are extended to the utmost scope

Stabilization of Miscible Aqueous Phases via Diffusion‐Controlled Multifunctional Nanoparticle‐Ligand Complexation

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study presents a versatile approach to harnessing miscible aqueous domains, enabling liquid‐in‐liquid compartmentalization using a barrier formed in situ rather than bulk immiscibility. The barrier forms upon the complexation of multifunctional nanoparticles and ligands at the contact boundary of aqueous phases.

The effects of internal waves on sound speed in shallow waters of the Persian Gulf

open access: yesInternational Journal of Coastal and Offshore Engineering, 2016
The internal waves complicate the propagation process of sound in the water. These waves are considered the main cause of disturbances in sound speed, and now it is known that the internal waves are the dominant parameter in the change process of sea ...

2.5 NON-INVASIVE WAVE INTENSITY ANALYSIS IN THE AORTA AND INTERNAL CAROTID USING PHASE-CONTRAST MR ANGIOGRAPHY: THE EFFECT OF HYPERTENSION

open access: yesArtery Research, 2017
Introduction: Hypertension is associated with stiffening of blood vessels, reduced arterial lumen and reduced cerebral blood flow; however, it is not known how lower cerebral blood flow relates to arterial structure or impacts on wave dynamics.

Domain Wall Rebounds Driven by Competing Entropic and Spin‐Transfer Torques in Cylindrical Nanowires

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Domain‐wall motion in cylindrical magnetic nanowires driven by nanosecond current pulses. Low current densities efficiently displace domain walls, whereas higher currents cause rebound at the wire ends. The effect results from the interplay between spin‐transfer torque and thermally induced processes, highlighting the role of thermal gradients in ...

Energy Release Through Internal Wave Breaking [PDF]

open access: yesOceanography, 2012
The sun inputs huge amounts of heat to the ocean, heat that would stay near the ocean's surface if it were not mechanically mixed into the deep. Warm water is less dense than cold water, so that heated surface waters "float" on top of the cold deep ...
