International geomagnetic reference field: the fourth generation
Physics of the Earth and Planetary Interiors, 1987Abstract In August 1985 the International Association of Geomagnetism and Aeronomy revised the International Geomagnetism Reference Field (IGRF). This is the third revision since the first IGRF was produced in 1968. The revised IGRF now consists of 10 spherical harmonic models of the main geomagnetic field and its secular variation and covers the ...

The 14th Generation of the International Geomagnetic Reference Field
The 14th generation of the International Geomagnetic Reference Field (IGRF-14) was officially released in November 2024. It is valid from 1900.0 to 2030.0 and supersedes the 13th generation IGRF, which ends at 2025.0. The IGRF-14 model consists of five-yearly snapshots of the magnetic field represented by Gauss coefficients.Clemens Kloss, Ciaran Beggan
