Manipulating the Hydrogen‐Associated Insulator‐Metal Transition Through Artificial Microstructure Engineering

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Establishing an unobstructed conduit for hydrogen diffusion via the artificial design of material microstructure associated with boundary configuration and crystal orientation offers a powerful tuning knob for extensively accelerating the proton mobility and enhancing electronic phase modulations, thereby advancing the high‐speed protonic device ...

Ultrathin, Unsinkable, Janus‐Faced Solar–Thermal Interfacial Evaporator for High‐Throughput Seawater Distillation and Solar‐Water Production

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A nanostructured carbon‐coated porous polymeric scaffold is developed to accelerate the hydrological cycle, enabling solar–thermal freshwater production from saline water with reduced energy consumption and CO2 footprint. Abstract Solar–thermal distillation offers immense and hitherto untapped potential for energy‐efficient, sustainable freshwater ...

Affinity‐Based Protein Profiling Revealed that HIGD1A is a Direct Target Protein of Aristolochic Acids

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Using an affinity‐based probe, this study reveals that aristolochic acid directly binds to HIGD1A with high affinity in the kidney. This binding disrupts the HIGD1A‐TFAM interaction, which in turn triggers TFAM degradation, cytosolic mitochondrial DNA release, and the activation of inflammatory pathways. Abstract Exposure to aristolochic acids (AA) via

Early Detection of Cell Death Using Transmembrane Water Exchange Magnetic Resonance Imaging

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Cell death is important in both the development and treatment of cancer. In this study, it is demonstrated for the first time that a specific measurement of the transmembrane water exchange rate using magnetic resonance imaging can be used as an early marker of cell death in mammalian cells, in animals and in human patients. Abstract Cell death plays a
