Global population growth and climate change have exacerbated the global food crisis. This perspective presents a conceptual framework focusing on enhancing population advantages. Several novel breeding objectives are proposed to improve density tolerance and stress resistance for yield improvement.

Bifunctional adsorption‐storage films enable autonomous indoor humidity regulation and freshwater harvesting, rapidly decreasing relative humidity from 90.7% to 21.6% within one hour while producing 1.1 kg·m−2·day−1 of water, offering a passive route towards energy‐efficient humidity control and sustainable indoor environments.
