Unveiling Coexisting Battery‐Type and Pseudocapacitive Intercalation Mechanisms in Lithium Titanate
Conventional Li‐ion batteries and supercapacitors face power–energy trade‐offs. This study reveals lithium titanate (Li4Ti5O12) as a “battery‐capacitive” material with dual lithiation mechanisms: a battery‐type redox at ≈1.55 V (vs Li/Li+) and a pseudocapacitive response near 0 V.
