Mechanically Tunable Bone Scaffolds: In Vivo Hardening of 3D‐Printed Calcium Phosphate/Polycaprolactone Inks

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A 3D bone scaffold with osteogenic properties and capable of hardening in vivo is developed. The scaffold is implanted in a ductile state, and a phase transformation of the ceramic induces the stiffening and strengthening of the scaffold in vivo. Abstract Calcium phosphate 3D printing has revolutionized customized bone grafting.

Essays in Internal and International Migration

open access: yesDrug Development Research, 2014
This dissertation investigates how internal migration spreads local shocks to the national market. The first chapter describes a dynamic model of internal migration where in equilibrium there are always positive internal migration flows across locations.

Toward Robust Ionic Conductivity Determination of Sulfide‐Based Solid Electrolytes for Solid‐State Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The ionic conductivity of a solid electrolyte is just the “tip of the iceberg”. There are many parameters to consider to quantify it reliably in powdered solid electrolyte samples. Abstract All‐solid‐state batteries (ASSBs) are taking the lead as the next‐generation energy storage systems, mainly to the development of new solid electrolytes with high ...

Differences in health related quality of life among older migrants and nonmigrants in India

open access: yesScientific Reports
Increasing age with migration status might have a double risk of vulnerability to poor health outcomes. There is a lack of population-based studies on health-related quality of life (HRQoL) of older migrants in India.

Next‐Generation Bio‐Reducible Lipids Enable Enhanced Vaccine Efficacy in Malaria and Primate Models

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Structure–activity relationship (SAR) optimization of bio‐reducible ionizable lipids enables the development of highly effective lipid nanoparticle (LNP) mRNA vaccines. Lead LNPs show superior tolerability and antibody responses in rodents and primates, outperforming approved COVID‐19 vaccine lipids.

Mechanisms of Anode Interfacial Phenomena and Multi‐perspective Optimization in Aqueous Alkaline Zinc‐Air Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Zinc‐air batteries demonstrate great potential for sustainable energy storage but face major anode‐related challenges. This review provides a mechanism‐driven overview of zinc anode interfacial issues, e.g. dendrite formation, passivation, self‐corrosion, and hydrogen evolution; and explores advances in electrode, surface, and electrolyte engineering ...

Beyond a Swedish Horizon: 'Young migrants in Sweden and their transnational prospects'

open access: yesNordic Journal of Migration Research, 2012
This article examines the way in which young people of migrant descent in Sweden account for their future prospects and career plans. The article demonstrates how both their position as “migrants” in Sweden and their attachment to a transnational network
