Solid Polymer Electrolyte with Compatible Cathode‐Electrolyte Interfacial Design Enabling Lithium Metal Batteries Operation at 4.8 V with Long Cycle Life

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This study introduce a novel approach to enhancing cathode‐SPE compatibility by utilizing the same poly(ionic liquid) (PolyIL)‐based material in both the SPE and the cathode binder. A modified biomass‐based PolyIL substrate, enriched with highly negatively charged C═O and ─OH groups, is incorporated into the SPE to improve Li+ migration and strengthen ...

Understanding International Migration using Tensor Factorization [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2017
Understanding human migration is of great interest to demographers and social scientists. User generated digital data has made it easier to study such patterns at a global scale. Geo coded Twitter data, in particular, has been shown to be a promising source to analyse large scale human migration.

Brazil, internal migration

open access: yes, 2018
Internal migration has been decisive in the process of rapid urbanization that has occurred throughout Brazil in recent decades. The usual explanation for this movement references poverty and the lack of job opportunities in the northeast combined with the concentration of industries in the southeast, mainly in the state of São Paulo.

Exploring Impacts of Surface Coatings to Modify Water Uptake and Selectivity within Metal–Organic Nanotubes

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
The surface of a metal–organic nanotube (MONT) is modified by a self‐assembled monolayer (ammonium trifluoroacetate) and polymer coatings, specifically polyvinylidene fluoride and polyacrylonitrile to explore their influence on water adsorption properties in hybrid materials.

Unveiling the Aging Effect at the Interface of N719 Dye‐Sensitized Solar Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Iodide is incorporated into the N719 layer through two mechanisms: the known ligand exchange of NCS with I and a second yet unknown mechanism which significantly blocks the charge regeneration process of the N719 dye contributing to the cell degradation.
