Investigating internal migration with network analysis and latent space representations: An application to Turkey [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2022
Human migration patterns influence the redistribution of population characteristics over the geography and since such distributions are closely related to social and economic outcomes, investigating the structure and dynamics of internal migration plays a crucial role in understanding and designing policies for such systems.

Regional approaches to international humanitarian law [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Violations of international humanitarian law (IHL) are a global concern. The enforcement of IHLhas traditionally focused on the State level. As States have shown an unwillingness or inability to address violations, attention has moved to the ...

Solid Polymer Electrolyte with Compatible Cathode‐Electrolyte Interfacial Design Enabling Lithium Metal Batteries Operation at 4.8 V with Long Cycle Life

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This study introduce a novel approach to enhancing cathode‐SPE compatibility by utilizing the same poly(ionic liquid) (PolyIL)‐based material in both the SPE and the cathode binder. A modified biomass‐based PolyIL substrate, enriched with highly negatively charged C═O and ─OH groups, is incorporated into the SPE to improve Li+ migration and strengthen ...

SOFT LAW REALISATION IN THE CONTEXT OF «PRINCIPLES RELEVANT TO THE USE OF NUCLEAR POWER SOURCES IN OUTER SPACE»: CASE STUDY THE RUSSIAN FEDERATION, THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA AND THE EUROPEAN UNION STATES

open access: yesRUDN Journal of Law, 2017
Nowadays one of the most significant discussions in the international public law relates to the concept and the role of “soft law”. Some researchers assert the point of view of existence of such law, others consider that it is a new source of public ...

Development of ZnO Buffer Layers for As‐Doped CdSeTe/CdTe Solar Cells with Efficiency Exceeding 20%

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Highly resistive ZnO has been used as the buffer layer in As‐doped CdSeTe/CdTe solar cells to achieve efficiencies higher than 20%. STEM images and EDX mapping show that the quality of the front interface is dependent on the ZnO deposition temperature. Unusually, chlorine is not observed at the front interface using EDX when the ZnO is deposited at 100

A MEMS Electromagnetic Vibration Energy Harvester with Monolithically Integrated NdFeB Micromagnets

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
50µm thick sputtered arrays of NdFeB micromagnets are directly integrated into a functional MEMS in‐plane electromagnetic vibration energy harvester. A combination of analytical modeling and numerical simulations guided the design of the magnet arrays and ad‐hoc coil, to produce a high transduction factor.

Internal Space-time Symmetries according to Einstein, Wigner, Dirac, and Feynman [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2010
When Einstein formulated his special relativity in 1905, he established the law of Lorentz transformations for point particles. It is now known that particles have internal space-time structures. Particles, such as photons and electrons, have spin variables.

International Satellite Law [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
International satellite law can best be described as that subset of international space law that addresses the operations of satellites in orbit around the Earth.

The Origins of Authorisation: Article VI of the Outer Space Treaty and International Space Law

open access: yes, 2011
The issue of authorisation of private space activities ultimately goes back to the principled political disagreements in the 50s and 60s between the two superpowers in space, the United States and the Soviet Union, on the proper role of other entities ...
