Performance Analysis of a Downlink Cooperative NOMA Network Over Nakagami-m Fading Channels

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2018
This paper assesses the performances of a downlink cooperative non-orthogonal multiple access (C-NOMA) network over Nakagami-m fading channels. The analytical outage probability expression for each user is derived and verified by Monte Carlo simulations.

Soft Mechanical‐Electrical Logic Using Liquid Metal‐Filled 3D‐Printed Architectures

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
We present 3D‐printed soft mechanical–electrical logic elements that use liquid metal–filled silicone tubes actuated by thermoplastic polyurethane/polylactic acid (TPU/PLA) architectures to produce Boolean operations. Complementary normally open and normally closed unit cells perform repeatable binary transitions and can be combined into more complex ...

Fact Finders: A History Game to Support Young Children’s Understanding of Multiple Perspectives in War Conflicts

open access: yesInternational Journal of Computer Games Technology
Games for social impact have the potential to influence children’s attitudes on sensitive topics, such as intractable intergroup conflicts. Changing the hostile perspectives of young people in such conflicts is critical to transforming the conflict. Only

Internet communities

open access: yesMGIMO Review of International Relations, 2013
This paper attempts to answer the question of whether the Internet community and the individual users of social networks are actors in world politics. They are gaining political influence, and Web 2.0 technologies are increasingly political. We analyze projects integrating social web services to interact with government information systems by citizens,

Texoskeletons: Developing the Fundamental Technologies for Creating Intelligent Soft Robotic Clothing With Integrated 1D Sensors and Actuators

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Traditional wearable exoskeletons rely on rigid structures, which limit comfort, flexibility, and everyday usability. This work introduces the fundamental technologies to create the first soft, lightweight, intelligent textile‐based exoskeletons (Texoskeletons) built using 1D sensors and actuators.

Identifiability and self-presentation: Computer-mediated communication and intergroup interaction [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
This research investigated the intergroup properties of hostile 'flaming' behaviour in computer-mediated communication and how flaming language is affected by Internet identifiability, or identifiability by name and e-mail address/geographical location ...

Polarity‐Reversible Photoresponse–Driven Autonomous Wavelength Discrimination in Quantum Dot–Tellurium Thin‐Film Photodetectors via Engineered Energy‐Band Alignment

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A quantum dot–tellurium thin‐film photodetector autonomously discriminates visible and infrared wavelengths through polarity‐reversible photoresponses. Engineered carrier separation and gain modulation enable filter‐free multispectral sensing within a single‐device architecture.

Visualizing conflict: tracing aesthetic patterns in AI-generated images of the 2023 Israel-Hamas war

open access: yesFrontiers in Communication
While much discussion is focused on the relation between generative artificial intelligence and visual culture, its implications for journalism and public perception require a more in-depth critical examination. This study examines 28 AI-generated images
