α‐Synuclein Pathology Spreads in a Midbrain–Hindbrain Assembloid Model

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A novel midbrain–hindbrain assembloid model demonstrates the spread of α‐synuclein pathology, a hallmark of Parkinson's disease, mimicking Braak's hypothesis. This model reveals how pathology propagates from the hindbrain to the midbrain, inducing synaptic changes and early signs of neuronal vulnerability. It offers an innovative platform for exploring

Affinity‐Based Isolation and One‐Pot Analysis of Extracellular Vesicles from Biofluids Using Phase Separated Zwitterionic Coacervates

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study presents a novel method for affinity‐based isolation and analysis of extracellular vesicles from biofluids using phase‐separated zwitterionic coacervates functionalized with a membrane‐sensing peptide. This technology minimizes nonspecific binding, enabling high‐yield isolation and direct one‐pot biomarker profiling.

Backpack electrofishing does not contribute to external signs of gas bubble trauma in sculpins

open access: yesAquaculture, Fish and Fisheries, Volume 2, Issue 6, Page 572-577, December 2022., 2022
Abstract We exposed prickly sculpin Cottus asper and reticulate sculpin Cottus perplexus to electroshock and sham treatments in a controlled laboratory setting to determine if backpack electrofishing contributed to or exacerbated external signs of gas bubble trauma (GBT) in fish exposed to elevated total dissolved gas (TDG) levels. Fish were exposed to

Utilising feed effectors and automated feeders for semi‐intensive pacific white shrimp (Litopenaeus vannamei) production

open access: yesAquaculture, Fish and Fisheries, Volume 2, Issue 6, Page 540-551, December 2022., 2022
Abstract Feed effectors have been suggested to improve the efficiency of plant‐based shrimp diets by increasing attractability and palatability. This research trial aimed to expand upon previous Pacific white shrimp (Litopenaeus vannamei) research involving plant‐based diets, feed effectors and passive acoustic monitoring (PAM) in a laboratory setting ...

Interactive soybean variable‐rate seeding simulator for farmers

open access: yesAgronomy Journal, Volume 114, Issue 6, Page 3554-3565, November/December 2022., 2022
Abstract Seed expense is a critical component affecting soybean (Glycine max L.) production cost. Achieving potential benefits of adjusting seeding rates by yield environment requires translation from theory to practice through decision support tools.
