Development of Water‐soluble 3‐Nitro‐2‐pyridinesulfenate for Disulfide Bond Formation of Peptide under Aqueous Conditions

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, Accepted Article.
Establishing an efficient method for the synthesis of disulfide bonds in peptides is an important challenge for the further development of several research fields, including peptide‐based medicinal chemistry and biochemistry. Herein, we report the development of a novel highly water‐soluble 3‐nitro‐2‐pyridine (Npy) sulfenate that efficiently forms ...

Weighing risks against GHG reduction benefits in emerging green technologies

open access: yesThe Canadian Journal of Chemical Engineering, EarlyView.
Abstract Green technologies represent promising strategies for mitigating carbon emissions and combating global warming. However, their implementation in civil and industrial applications is not without risks, as intrinsic uncertainties and latent safety concerns can threaten their effective deployment.

Pharmacological Inhibition of β Myosin II Disrupts Sarcomere Assembly in Human iPSC‐Derived Cardiac Myocytes

open access: yesCytoskeleton, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Sarcomeres are the fundamental contractile units of striated muscle. The functional roles of the cardiac‐specific myosin heavy chains, MYH6 (α myosin II) and MYH7 (β myosin II) during sarcomere assembly remain controversial. To address this, we utilized a selective MYH7 inhibitor, mavacamten, in combination with siRNA‐mediated knockdown of ...

A Mechanochemical Route for the Synthesis of Diphenyleneiodonium Salts and the Estimation of Their Relative Solid‐State Reactivities

open access: yesChemistry–Methods, EarlyView.
An efficient mechanochemical route for diphenyleneiodonium (DPI) salt synthesis is reported which offers a sustainable and solvent‐free alternative. The solid‐state reactivities of the reported DPI salts were also assessed with the help of morphology predictions and Hirshfeld surface analysis computations to understand the effect of crystal morphology,

Geometrical and Electronic Structure of Fluorinated and Non‐Fluorinated Platinum(II) Tetraphenylporphyrin Complexes

open access: yesChemPhysChem, EarlyView.
The experimental gas‐phase geometries of two platinum complexes, free from intermolecular interactions, can serve as references for related complexes in the crystalline state or solution. A significant electron density transfer from the porphyrin backbone to the platinum ion make it extremely low positive charged at +0.5 e.

Purifying the Air with Photocatalysis: Developing Bismuth Oxybromide/ Copper Phthalocyanine Composite Photocatalyst Filters with Enhanced Activity for NOx Removal

open access: yesChemPhotoChem, EarlyView.
Herein, we carried out an in‐depth study into the synthesis, optoelectronic characterisation, and charge carrier dynamics of the bismuth oxobromide/ copper phthalocyanine (BiOBr/CuPc) composite system for UV and visible light photocatalytic nitrogen oxide (NOx) removal on air purification filters.
