Beyond Presumptions: Toward Mechanistic Clarity in Metal‐Free Carbon Catalysts for Electrochemical H2O2 Production via Data Science

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Metal‐free carbon catalysts enable the sustainable synthesis of hydrogen peroxide via two‐electron oxygen reduction; however, active site complexity continues to hinder reliable interpretation. This review critiques correlation‐based approaches and highlights the importance of orthogonal experimental designs, standardized catalyst passports ...

OntONeo: The Obstetric and Neonatal Ontology [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
This paper presents the Obstetric and Neonatal Ontology (OntONeo). This ontology has been created to provide a consensus representation of salient electronic health record (EHR) data and to serve interoperability of the associated data and information ...

The Evolution of Interoperability [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
This note is a retrospective review of our 2006 paper [1] on the properties of protocols, especially interoperability. A bit of history is in order. By 2006, the importance of a social semantics for protocols was well-established in the multiagent systems community.

An Overview of Cloud Interoperability [PDF]

open access: yesAnnals of Computer Science and Information Systems, 2016
Unlike the network TCP/IP's and OSI's layered structure of protocols, which allows the independence of protocols of different layers, as well as defining the upper layer protocols through the protocols of the lower layers, the cloud service layers are tightly dependent on each other. For example, an application of the SaaS layer can neither communicate

RPL6 Interacts with HMGCS1 to Stabilize HIF‐1α by Promoting Cholesterol Production in Hepatocellular Carcinoma

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The study found that RPL6 is frequently upregulated in HCC tissues with extrahepatic metastasis. Elevated RPL6 bound to and increased the stability of HMGCS1 mRNA, thereby enhancing intracellular cholesterol levels. Subsequently, increased cholesterol promotes cancer metastasis in HCC by stabilizing HIF‐1α protein.

Integrating heterogeneous distributed COTS discrete-event simulation packages: An emerging standards-based approach [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
This paper reports on the progress made toward the emergence of standards to support the integration of heterogeneous discrete-event simulations (DESs) created in specialist support tools called commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) discrete-event simulation ...

Life‐Cycle Assessment of Printed Electronic Components ‐ Case Study for Organic Electrochemical Transistors

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
This tutorial introduces a practical framework for implementing early‐stage Life‐Cycle Assessment (LCA) in flexible and printed electronics. Using organic electrochemical transistors (OECTs) as a case study, the modular Process‐of‐Record and open‐access inventory provides a rich resource adaptable to a plethora of technologies in printed electronics ...

Prospect of Ruthenium for Hydrogen Evolution Reaction in Alkaline Media through In Situ Monitoring

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
This perspective highlights how in situ/operando techniques enable real‐time tracking of active Ru‐based catalysts under alkaline HER conditions. By combining static descriptors with dynamic‐state insights, a design feedback loop is proposed to guide rational catalyst development beyond equilibrium models.

The Measurement of Quality of Semantic Standards: the Application of a Quality Model on the SETU standard for eGovernment [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
eGovernment interoperability should be dealt with using high-quality standards. A quality model for standards is presented based on knowledge from the software engineering domain. In the tradition of action research the model is used on the SETU standard,
