Candidates for downstream jets at interplanetary shocks
Localised dynamic pressure enhancements arising from kinetic processes are frequently observed downstream of the Earth’s bow shock. These structures, called jets, modify their plasma surroundings and participate in particle energisation.

Frequency‐Dependent Responses of Plasmaspheric Hiss to the Impact of an Interplanetary Shock
Plasmaspheric hiss waves are essential for the pitch‐angle scattering and precipitation of energetic electrons and interplanetary shocks may affect these waves.

Gradual solar proton events are thought to consist of solar components originating near the Sun and interplanetary components associated with interplanetary shocks, and the role of interplanetary shocks is considered to be crucial in supplying particles ...

Planar magnetic structures (PMSs), characterized by interplanetary magnetic field vectors remaining parallel to a specific plane, are commonly observed in the solar wind, especially in the sheath region of interplanetary coronal mass ejections (ICMEs ...

Reflected ions at interplanetary shocks [PDF]
This paper shows that the shock dissipation mechanism changes profoundly from the inner to outer heliosphere and that pickup ions are responsible for shock dissipation beyond 35 AU. We make the first study of reflected ions in ICME sheaths downstream of interplanetary shocks observed by Voyager 2 from 1–80 AU.

Comparing generic models for interplanetary shocks and magnetic clouds axis configurations at 1 AU [PDF]
Interplanetary coronal mass ejections (ICMEs) are the manifestation of solar transient eruptions, which can significantly modify the plasma and magnetic conditions in the heliosphere.

Variations of Heavy Ions in Different Types of Interplanetary Shocks
Heavy ions upstream and downstream of interplanetary shocks are not only subject to acceleration, heating, and spatiotemporal modulation during their propagation in interplanetary space, but they can also, in turn, influence the dynamical properties of ...

Physical Characteristics of Coronal Region Driving Out the Interplanetary Shock [PDF]
Using the solar wind data of 2000 observed by ACE, We classified the interplanetary shock on basis of shock driver. We examined the physical properties of shock drivers such as the ratio of charge states(O7/O6) and thermal index(I_{th}).

ABSTRACT As a crucial puzzle piece of deep space exploration, exploring small bodies can provide significant scientific insights and valuable mineral resources. Unlike missions to the Moon and Mars, small‐body missions pose distinct technical challenges, including communication delays, weak gravity, and uncertain environments. This paper reviews a full

Particle Acceleration at Interplanetary Shocks [PDF]
The acceleration of interstellar pick-up ions as well as solar wind species has been observed at a multitude of interplanetary (IP) shocks by different spacecraft. This paper expands upon previous work modeling the phase space distributions of accelerated ions associated with the shock event encountered on day 292 of 1991 by the Ulysses mission at 4.5 ...
