A WAVE/DSRC-based intersection collision warning system

2009 International Conference on Ultra Modern Telecommunications & Workshops, 2009
Recently, WAVE/DSRC has become an attractive technology for vehicular safety applications. Vehicles with WAVE/DSRC device can communicate with their neighboring vehicles to exchange more information to achieve collaborative safety. According to the statistics in the United States, 2 million auto accidents happen at intersections causing 6700 fatalities

Breaking the Waves: Innovating at the Intersections of Economic Development

Economic Development Quarterly, 2018
State and local economic development is often conceptualized as a series of successive waves, with each wave representing distinct policy priorities. In this study, we rework the standard wave metaphor to recognize the gains for regional economies when practitioners reach across established boundaries to work together to create a strategy mix.

Vector polar method for the analysis of wave intersections

Combustion and Flame, 1968
The Vector Polar Method is a graphical technique for the solution of wave interaction problems that are concerned with overall results, rather than with the progress of the process. The paper describes the application of this method to wave intersections, that is interactions in steady flow.

Wave Packet Dynamics in the Presence of a Conical Intersection

The Journal of Physical Chemistry A, 1997
We present a model study of the nonadiabatic wave packet dynamics in the presence of a conical intersection. The wave packet travels essentially along a symmetric coordinate, modeling a photodissociation process, while it is stationary or makes small amplitude vibrations in the coupling modes.

Electron-nuclear wave-packet dynamics through a conical intersection

The Journal of Chemical Physics, 2017
We investigate the coupled electron-nuclear dynamics in a model system showing a conical intersection (CoIn) between two excited state potential energy surfaces. Within the model, a single electron and nucleus move in two dimensions in an external static field.

Formation of density waves in traffic flow through intersecting roads

Physical Review E, 2006
The formation of density waves in two intersecting roads, with a traffic circle at the intersection, is studied. It is found that, depending on the traffic densities in the two roads, density waves can form in the traffic circle and in one or both of the roads.

Flow Conditions near the Intersection of a Shock Wave with Solid Boundary

Journal of Mathematics and Physics, 1947
Recent investigations by J. Ackeret, F. Feldmann, and N. Rott [1] and H. - W. Liepmann [2] on the interactions of shock and boundary layer in transonic flows have shown many novel features hitherto unrecognized. One of these new phenomena is the presence of a strong expansion zone near the solid boundary immediately behind the shock.

Global Wave-front Sets of Intersection and Union Type

2013
We show that a temperate distribution belongs to an ordered intersection or union of admissible Banach or Frechet spaces if and only if the corresponding global wave-front set of union or intersection type is empty. We also discuss the situation where intersections and unions of sequences of spaces with two indices are involved.
