Scalable and Multifunctional PAN‐MXene Composite Fibers for Thermal Management, Photothermal Conversion, Energy Harvesting, and Sensing for Wearable Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Electrospun PAN‐MXene nanofibers and yarns integrate enhanced thermal conductivity, photothermal conversion, and triboelectric energy harvesting within a flexible architecture. Interconnected MXene networks promote efficient phonon transport, while their surface chemistry strengthens tribo‐negative behavior, enabling a high power density of 432.7 mW m ...

Elephant‐Skin‐Inspired Porous Cementitious Tiles with Programmable Crack Networks for Passive Cooling

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Elephant‐skin‐inspired crack networks are programmed in porous diatomaceous earth (DE)‐cement composites using substrate‐guided, stress‐concentration induced fracture. The resulting crack lattices act as capillary conduits that redistribute water, while the porous matrix stores moisture.

Vegans For Vick: Dogfighting, Social Controversy and the Limits of Mainstream Discourse

open access: yesInternational Journal of Communication, 2013
Once one of the most popular players in the National Football League (NFL), Michael Vick’s success came to an abrupt end in 2007 when he was convicted of a federal felony for his involvement in an illegal dogfighting ring.

Perceived discrimination and refraining from seeking physician’s care in Sweden: an intersectional analysis of individual heterogeneity and discriminatory accuracy (AIHDA)

open access: yesInternational Journal for Equity in Health
Background Discrimination may further impede access to medical care for individuals in socially disadvantaged positions. Sociodemographic information and perceived discrimination intersect and define multiple contexts or strata that condition the risk of

When Poor Exciton Dissociation Limits Photocurrents in Organic Solar Cells: Why Low Offset Non‐Fullerene Acceptor Blends Can't Be Efficient

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
The energetic offset between the donor and the acceptor components in organic photoactive layers is central to the tradeoff between photovoltage and photocurrent losses. This Perspective covers the most important issues surrounding this topic in non‐fullerene acceptor blends, from the difficulty of accurately determining state energies and driving ...

Antifeminism as an intersectional ideology: reflections on the usefulness of intersectional analyses in the context of the racist instrumentalization of women’s rights

open access: yesFrontiers in Political Science
Using the example of German feminist debates, this paper examines the applicability of intersectional approaches to analyzing the relationship between antifeminism, racism, and sexism, as well as the far-right co-optation of critiques of sexism, using ...

Two‐Dimensional Reconfigurable Photodiode for In‐Sensor Color Filtering and Spectral Logic

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
By harnessing the photodoping of different aggregates, the device exhibits wavelength‐dependent volatile‐to‐nonvolatile photoresponses that can be reconfigured via bias modulation. This enables in‐sensor color filtering and spectral‐encrypted information processing, eliminating reliance on external optical filters or post‐processing algorithms ...
