Interplanetary Hydrogen Observations of the Emirates Ultraviolet Spectrometer Onboard the Emirates Mars Mission

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Space Physics, Volume 130, Issue 6, June 2025.
Abstract The Emirates Mars Ultraviolet Spectrometer (EMUS) aboard the Emirates Mars Mission (EMM) has been studying backscattered interplanetary hydrogen (interplanetary hydrogen (IPH)) Lyman emissions with dedicated observation strategies viz., U‐OS3b and U‐OS4b. These observation techniques involve looking away from Mars from the EMM's orbit.

Charging of Aggregate Grains in Astrophysical Environments

open access: yes, 2013
The charging of dust grains in astrophysical environments has been investigated with the assumption these grains are homogeneous spheres. However, there is evidence which suggests many grains in astrophysical environments are irregularly-shaped ...

The STEREO REleASE System: Solar Energetic Proton Forecasting in the Heliosphere

open access: yesSpace Weather, Volume 23, Issue 6, June 2025.
Abstract Solar energetic particle events can pose a radiation hazard for electronics in space and human space exploration, especially for missions to Moon or Mars outside Earth's magnetic field. Therefore the capability to forecasts such events is desirable. One available model is the Relativistic Electron Alert System for Exploration (REleASE).

On the alignment of PNe and local magnetic field at the galactic centre: MHD numerical simulations [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
For the past decade observations of the alignement of PNe symmetries with respect to the galactic disk have led to conflicting results. Recently observational evidence for alignment between PNe and local interstellar magnetic fields in the central part ...

Modulation of the Product Upon the Reaction of CO2 With Dimethylamine Cluster: A Topological Analysis of the Reaction Mechanism

open access: yesJournal of Computational Chemistry, Volume 46, Issue 13, May 15, 2025.
ABSTRACT The capture, activation, and reaction of carbon dioxide with dimethylamine (DMA) clusters have been investigated theoretically in the gas phase. The electronic structure of various compounds has been obtained using the density functional theory approach.

Innovative interstellar explorer [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
An interstellar "precursor" mission has been under discussion in the scientific community for at least 30 years. Fundamental scientific questions about the interaction of the Sun with the interstellar medium can only be answered with in situ measurements

Structure Identification of CO Monolayer on Ag(111) Using Atomic Force Microscopy

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, Volume 12, Issue 10, May 19, 2025.
Physisorption systems of CO molecules on metal surfaces have long been studied. Nondestructive analysis of weakly adsorbed systems on surfaces still remains a challenging task. In this study, the structure of the CO monolayer is successfully determined by directly visualizing individual CO molecules using atomic force microscopy (AFM).

Refractive interstellar scintillation in pulsar dynamic spectra [PDF]

open access: yesMonthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society, 1994
The evolution of the dynamic spectra of eight pulsars over 16 months is reported. Observations were made at Jodrell Bank at 408 MHz from 1984 September to 1986 January. The changing form of the spectra is interpreted as refractive modulation of diffractive interstellar scintillation.

All-Sky Near Infrared Space Astrometry [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Gaia is currently revolutionizing modern astronomy. However, much of the Galactic plane, center and the spiral arm regions are obscured by interstellar extinction, rendering them inaccessible because Gaia is an optical instrument.

Evolution of Hot Gas and Dark Halos in Group-Dominant Elliptical Galaxies: Influence of Cosmic Inflow

open access: yes, 1998
We study the complete dynamical evolution of hot interstellar gas in massive elliptical galaxies born into a simple flat universe beginning with an overdense perturbation.
