Time Variations of Interstellar Water Masers in HII Regions [PDF]

open access: yesMonthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society, 1979
Previous studies of time variations in water vapour sources associated with HII regions by Sullivan (1971, 1973) and Gammon (1976) have revealed variability on time-scales of 106-107s. Sullivan monitored nine sources over a period of 14 months and Gammon observed W49 (H2O) for 13 months.

Methanol Line Diagnostics of Post-burst Physical Evolution in the High-mass Episodic Accretion Source G358.93−0.03

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
We report multi-epoch Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array Band 5–7 observations of the high-mass episodic-accretion burst source G358.93−0.03, covering (sub-)millimeter CH _3 OH masers, quasi-thermal lines, and continuum from 2019 April to 2022 ...

Masers and Star Formation Activities in W51A

open access: yesThe Astronomical Journal
Concurrently with the maser flare observed in W51-North during the 3 month monitoring of H _2 O, NH _3 , and CH _3 OH maser variability from 2020 January to April using the Tianma 65 m Radio Telescope, we conducted Very Large Array mappings for these ...

Interstellar Hydroxyl Masers in the Galaxy. II. Zeeman Pairs and the Galactic Magnetic Field [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
We have identified and classified Zeeman pairs in the survey by Argon, Reid, & Menten of massive star-forming regions with 18 cm (2Π3/2,J = 3/2) OH maser emission.

A 6 cm Formaldehyde Line Survey toward WISE Point Sources

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal Supplement Series
We conducted a 6 cm formaldehyde (H _2 CO) line survey across the northern sky, targeting 3149 high-mass star-forming region candidates selected from the all-sky Wide-field Infrared Survey Explorer (WISE) point-source catalog using the Shanghai TianMa 65

Interstellar Scattering and the Sizes of Astronomical Masers

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal, 1972
The suggestion is explored that scattering by inhomogeneities in the distribution of electrons causes astronomical masers to appear larger than their actual sizes. It is shown that neither scattering near the source nor scattering in the intervening medium is sufficiently strong to produce this effect.

Class II methanol masers in star formation regions

open access: yes, 1996
In 1991 maser emission from the 51-60 A+ transition of CH3OH at a frequency of 6.7 GHz was discovered by Menten (1991a). This transition is more common and stronger than the 12.2-GHz (2 0-3_ 1E) transition discovered four years previously.

First Detection of Circular Polarization in 4.7 GHz Excited OH Masers

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
We report the first detection of circular polarization in 4.7 GHz excited OH masers in star-forming regions made using full Stokes measurements with the Green Bank 100 m telescope.
