Polarization‐Selective Metamaterial Absorber for Long‐ to Very Long‐Wavelength Infrared Broadband

open access: yesNanophotonics, Volume 15, Issue 9, 13 May 2026.
Broadband and polarization‐selective metamaterial absorbers for long‐ to very long‐wavelength infrared light with high extinction ratios are designed and demonstrated, which provide a new method for broadband polarization‐selective absorbers. ABSTRACT Metamaterial absorbers have received extensive research interest and sustained attention due to their ...

Turbulence and Diffusive Transport of Cosmic Rays in the Very Local Interstellar Medium

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal, 2023
We study the transport of fast charged particles, such as galactic cosmic rays, in the very local interstellar medium (VLISM), which is currently being explored by the two Voyager space probes.

Structure and Spectroscopy of Criegee Intermediates in Gas‐ and Aqueous Environments

open access: yesHelvetica Chimica Acta, Volume 109, Issue 5, May 2026.
ABSTRACT The dynamics and spectroscopy of the small (H2COO) and large (CH3CHOO) Criegee intermediates (CIs) in the gas phase, inside/on water droplets, on amorphous solid water (ASW) and in bulk water are investigated using validated energy functions.

The Lyα Sky as Observed by New Horizons at 57 au

open access: yesThe Astronomical Journal
During 2023 September the Alice ultraviolet spectrograph on the New Horizons (NH) spacecraft was used to map diffuse Lyα emission over most of the sky, at a range of ∼56.9 au from the Sun.

The May 2024 Superstorm Coronal Mass Ejections as Observed by the Psyche Gamma‐Ray and Neutron Spectrometer

open access: yesSpace Weather, Volume 24, Issue 5, May 2026.
Abstract We report new measurements of high‐energy protons ejected by the sun during the May 2024 Ganon superstorm. Our observations were made by the Neutron Spectrometer (NS) on the Psyche spacecraft, which was located at a solar distance of approximately 2 AU and a Sun‐Earth‐Probe separation angle of 75°.

Ne and Fe Abundances in the Interstellar Medium: Archival Study of Fe-L and Ne-K Edges in Chandra and XMM-Newton

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
The abundance of elements in the interstellar medium is a key facet for many fields of astrophysical study. In the soft X-ray spectra, absorption by interstellar gas can result in deep absorption features that affect continuum measurements. In this paper,

FINE STRUCTURE OF ANOMALOUSLY INTENSE PULSES OF PSR J0814+7429 RADIO EMISSION IN THE DECAMETER RANGE

open access: yesRadio Physics and Radio Astronomy, 2017
Purpose: The fine structure of the anomalously intense pulses of PSR J0814+7429 (В0809+74) has been studied. The pulsar radio emission fine structure is investigated to determine its parameters in the lowest part of spectrum available for groundbased ...

Joint Modelling of Dust Scattering and Thermal Emission: The Spider Complex

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal, 2023
Observations across the electromagnetic spectrum of radiative processes involving interstellar dust—emission, absorption, and scattering—are used to constrain the parameters of dust models and more directly to aid in foreground removal of dust for ...

Dissipation of Magnetohydrodynamic Waves on Energetic Particles: Impact on Interstellar Turbulence and Cosmic Ray Transport [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
The physical processes involved in diffusion of Galactic cosmic rays in the interstellar medium are addressed. We study the possibility that the nonlinear MHD cascade sets the power-law spectrum of turbulence which scatters charged energetic particles ...
