Comparing GFDM With OFDM for Use in 6G Communication From a New Perspective

open access: yesJournal of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Volume 2026, Issue 1, 2026.
The most important challenges facing 6G communication systems are the large amount of data and low latency as compared to previous generations. Therefore, it has become necessary to use advanced technologies to meet the requirements of 6G wireless communication systems.

Tropospheric Propagation Effects Extracted From ADS‐B Messages

open access: yesEngineering Reports, Volume 7, Issue 12, December 2025.
This study explores the use of ADS‐B messages to estimate tropospheric effects, effectively isolating atmospheric influences from interference. The approach enables independent lower atmosphere studies and offers a cost‐free supplementary method for satellite applications, benefiting GNSS systems, especially at low elevation angles where multipath and ...

Channel shortening algorithms for multiple intersymbol interference channels

open access: yes, 2016
We consider channel shortening (CS) algorithms for communication systems where multiple single antenna nodes are transmitting single carrier signals to a single antenna receiver over known intersymbol interference channels.

Enhancing FSO‐DWDM Performance Through Compensation Strategies

open access: yesEngineering Reports, Volume 7, Issue 12, December 2025.
This study investigates the performance of free space optics (FSO) with dense wavelength division multiplexing (DWDM) systems, focusing on the impact of channel number and compensation strategies on bit error rate (BER). Results show that post‐compensation significantly improves performance, extending the system's range from 3 to 5 km.

Nonlinear Distortion Equalization in Multi‐Span Optical Links Via a Feed‐Forward Photonic Neural Network

open access: yesLaser &Photonics Reviews, Volume 19, Issue 23, December 3, 2025.
A feed‐forward photonic neural network equalizes linear and nonlinear impairments in multi‐span IMDD optical fiber transmission. The linear processing stage employs an 8‐tap optical Finite Impulse Response filter integrated on a silicon photonics platform, while the end‐of‐line photodetector represents the nonlinear stage.
