QCL‐Based Cryogen‐Free THz Optical Wireless Communication Link

open access: yesLaser &Photonics Reviews, Volume 19, Issue 6, March 18, 2025.
A novel QCL‐based, cryogen‐free, and transportable wireless communication system is presented operating at 2.83 THz. The QCL device is mounted in a compact Stirling refrigerator, while a room‐temperature graphene‐based FET is used as a receiver, implementing a binary on‐off keying (OOK) modulation scheme with Manchester encoding.

Subband Array Implementations for Space-Time Adaptive Processing

open access: yesEURASIP Journal on Advances in Signal Processing, 2005
Intersymbol interference (ISI) and cochannel interference (CCI) are two primary sources of signal impairment in mobile communications. In order to suppress both ISI and CCI, space-time adaptive processing (STAP) has been shown to be effective in ...

Analysis of Chaos-Based Coded Modulations under Intersymbol Interference [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Chaos-based communications systems have shown to be of potential interest in some kinds of dispersive channels. In this paper we analyze the behavior of a class of chaos-based coded modulations (CCM’s) in channels with time-invariant intersymbol ...

Enhancing System Capacity Through Joint Space‐Ground Multi‐Beam Coordination for LEO Satellite Systems

open access: yesEngineering Reports, Volume 7, Issue 1, January 2025.
ABSTRACT Due to the long transmission distance of the constellation network represented by the low‐orbit satellite system, the satellite‐to‐ground link is subject to large path loss and limited communication performance. This paper uses multi‐satellite and multi‐beam joint transmission technology to form a virtual multiplex network with ground multi ...

A New Family of Nyquist Pulses With Improved Performance

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2023
In this work, we introduce and evaluate the performance of a novel family of Nyquist (intersymbol interference free) pulses that outperform several existing ones available in the open technical literature.

Channel shortening algorithms for multiple intersymbol interference channels

open access: yes, 2016
We consider channel shortening (CS) algorithms for communication systems where multiple single antenna nodes are transmitting single carrier signals to a single antenna receiver over known intersymbol interference channels.

Combined Serially Concatenated Codes and MMSE Equalization: an EXIT Chart Aided Perspective

open access: yes, 2006
Iterative Minimum Mean Square Error (MMSE) equalization and channel decoding is appealing, since it exhibits a lower complexity than maximum a posteriori (MAP) turbo equalization.
