Intertrochanteric and femoral neck fractures in patients with parkinsonism.
South African medical journal = Suid-Afrikaanse tydskrif vir geneeskunde, 1991 Thirty-eight patients with parkinsonism were reviewed after fracture of the hip. The 12-month mortality rate was the same as in other patients with hip fractures but without parkinsonism. However, the morbidity was higher-with loss of independent existence, loss of ambulation and an increased risk of dislocation of the endoprosthesis.
