We investigated how lesion location and subject specificity affect the femur's mechanical response in metastatic bone disease. Using one generic and three subject‐specific models, we found that lesion location is a major determinant of fracture risk, with consistent trends across subjects.

ABSTRACT Background Autoimmune diabetes (AD) increases fracture risk. Overweight worsens bone health despite increasing bone mineral density (BMD). This study examines how adiposity influences BMD and Dual X‐Ray Absorptiometry (DXA)‐derived parameters of bone geometry and strength in AD.

Predictors and reduction techniques for irreducible reverse intertrochanteric fractures
. Background:. Reverse intertrochanteric fractures are usually initially treated with closed reduction. However, sometimes these fractures are not amenable to closed reduction and require open reduction.

Treatment of Femoral Intertrochanteric Fracture with Proximal Femoral Nail

ABSTRACT The white‐eared opossum (Didelphis albiventris) is a Neotropical marsupial that readily adapts to urban environments. Due to its presence in anthropogenic habitats, this species is frequently exposed to vehicle collisions and dog attacks. Such trauma often results in long bone fractures, with humeral and femoral fractures being common in ...

Revision of a nonunited subtrochanteric femoral fracture around a failed intramedullary nail with the use of RIA products, BMP-7 and hydroxyapatite: a case report [PDF]
Introduction Femoral subtrochanteric fractures are commonly treated using intramedullary devices. Failure of the implant and subsequent nonunion is still an issue, however, and limited evidence exists regarding the most appropriate treatment.

Early surgery (< 48 h) in super‐aged hip fracture patients reduces 1–2 years mortality, complications, hospital stay, and costs, supporting timely intervention protocols. ABSTRACT Objective The global aging population has led to a significant increase in hip fractures among elderly patients, posing substantial clinical challenges.

Relationship between surgical time and postoperative
Hip fractures, including femoral neck, intertrochanteric, acetabular, femoral head, and subintertrochanteric fractures, are very common clinically. Among them, femoral neck fracture and intertrochanteric fracture are the most common types of fractures ...
