A study of functional outcome in intertrochanteric femur fractures treated by proximal femoral nailing [PDF]
Introduction: Intertrochanteric femur fracture is one of the most common fractures of the hip especially in the elderly with osteoporotic bones, usually due to trivial trauma.Dynamic Hip Screw (DHS) is still considered the gold standard for treating ...

Mortality in elderly patients with intertrochanteric fractures : three years' experience [PDF]
Aim: To review the mortality rate of patients admitted with intertrochanteric fractures within a period of three years. Intertrochantenc fractures are common in elderly patients and result in a high morbidity and mortality rate.

The EPR during anterior–posterior bending had 51.63% of the displacement compared to the DP (p = 0.0007), and 55% of the creep over 100 cycles (p = 0.0126) with a rigidity of 201.3% (p = 0.0067). This difference also exists for cyclic torsion where the EPR rotates 52.32% the amount of the DP (p = 0.0044) and has 4.44% of the creep (p < 0.0001).

Abstract Background Non‐ambulatory adults have an increased risk of osteoporosis and fractures due to reduced weight‐bearing and diminished neuromuscular stimulation, resulting in substantial morbidity and mortality. Aims This scoping review aimed to systematically evaluate risk factors, diagnostic indicators and management strategies for optimising ...

This experiment explored the biomechanical performance of ICCS + TCS in the fixation of Pauwels type III femoral neck fractures in young adults and results indicate that ICCS + TCS exhibit biomechanical properties similar to FNS in the treatment of P3FNFs while possessing stronger torsional stiffness and lower overall deformation.

Schematic representation of the role of lipophagy in bone mesenchymal stem cells(MSCs). In healthy MSCs, functional lipophagy efficiently degrades lipid droplets to support oxidative phosphorylation and cellular energy production, thereby facilitating osteogenic differentiation and matrix mineralization.

Bone mineral density (BMD) of the medial femoral condyle (MFC) was significantly correlated BMD at the proximal femur and lumbar spine in female patients with medial meniscus posterior root tears (MMPRT). Lower MFC BMD was independently associated with the presence of subchondral insufficiency fractures of the knee (SIFK), suggesting that local bone ...
