A new concept of differentiability for interval-valued functions [PDF]

open access: yesSurveys in Mathematics and its Applications, 2019
In this paper we propose a new concept of differentiability for interval-valued functions. This concept is based on the properties of the Hausdorff-Pompeiu metric and avoids using the generalized Hukuhara difference.

Echocardiographic AV-interval optimization in patients with reduced left ventricular function

open access: yesCardiovascular Ultrasound, 2004
Background Ritter's method is a tool used to optimize AV delay in DDD pacemaker patients with normal left ventricular function only. The goal of our study was to evaluate Ritter's method in AV delay-interval optimization in patients with reduced left ...

A Cre‐dependent lentiviral vector for neuron subtype‐specific expression of large proteins

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We designed a versatile and modular lentivector comprising a Cre‐dependent switch and self‐cleaving 2A peptide and tested it for co‐expression of GFP and a 2.8 kb gene of interest (GOI) in mouse cortical parvalbumin (PV+) interneurons and midbrain dopamine (TH+) neurons.

Green's function for two-interval Sturm-Liouville problems

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 2013
We construct the Green's function and the characteristic function for two-interval regular Sturm-Liouville problems with separated and coupled, self-adjoint and non-self-adjoint, boundary conditions.

Effects of High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) on Cognitive Function

open access: yesJKS (Jurnal Kedokteran Syiah Kuala)
Introduction: Physical exercise has an important role in the prevention or treatment of cognitive impairment. High Intensity interval training is one of interval training modalities that offers an effective way to improve cognitive function.

The Jacobi inversion formula

open access: yes, 1999
We look for spectral type differential equations satisfied by the generalized Jacobi polynomials which are orthogonal on the interval [-1,1] with respect to a weight function consisting of the classical Jacobi weight function together with point masses ...

Structural insights into lacto‐N‐biose I recognition by a family 32 carbohydrate‐binding module from Bifidobacterium bifidum

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Bifidobacterium bifidum establishes symbiosis with infants by metabolizing lacto‐N‐biose I (LNB) from human milk oligosaccharides (HMOs). The extracellular multidomain enzyme LnbB drives this process, releasing LNB via its catalytic glycoside hydrolase family 20 (GH20) lacto‐N‐biosidase domain.

Peptide‐based ligand antagonists block a Vibrio cholerae adhesin

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The structure of a peptide‐binding domain of the Vibrio cholerae adhesin FrhA was solved by X‐ray crystallography, revealing how the inhibitory peptide AGYTD binds tightly at its Ca2+‐coordinated pocket. Structure‐guided design incorporating D‐amino acids enhanced binding affinity, providing a foundation for developing anti‐adhesion therapeutics ...

Interval and $\ell$-interval Rational Parking Functions

open access: yesDiscrete Mathematics & Theoretical Computer Science
Interval parking functions are a generalization of parking functions in which cars have an interval preference for their parking. We generalize this definition to parking functions with $n$ cars and $m\geq n$ parking spots, which we call interval rational parking functions and provide a formula for their enumeration. By specifying an integer parameter $

Characterizing the salivary RNA landscape to identify potential diagnostic, prognostic, and follow‐up biomarkers for breast cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study explores salivary RNA for breast cancer (BC) diagnosis, prognosis, and follow‐up. High‐throughput RNA sequencing identified distinct salivary RNA signatures, including novel transcripts, that differentiate BC from healthy controls, characterize histological and molecular subtypes, and indicate lymph node involvement.
