Radiation‐induced hypothyroidism follows head and neck radiotherapy due to oxidative stress and inflammation. Electrospun polycaprolactone scaffolds containing adenosine have potential to modulate thyroid repair. Scaffolds enhance thyrocyte proliferation, antioxidant enzymes glutathione peroxidase and catalase, reduce senescence and apoptosis markers ...

Coronary microvascular dysfunction (CMD) targeting remains a challenge for precise diagnosis. This work presents a dual‐modal nanoprobe (T‐IR780‐NBs) that combines ultrasound contrast with near‐infrared fluorescence. This technology utilizes proteomics‐derived antibodies that specifically localize to inflamed and injured cardiac tissue, enabling ...

Dichotomization: 2 × 2 (×2 × 2 × 2...) categories: infinite possibilities
Background Consumers of epidemiology may prefer to have one measure of risk arising from analysis of a 2-by-2 table. However, reporting a single measure of association, such as one odds ratio (OR) and 95% confidence interval, from a continuous exposure ...

How the structure of precedence constraints may change the complexity class of scheduling problems
This survey aims at demonstrating that the structure of precedence constraints plays a tremendous role on the complexity of scheduling problems. Indeed many problems can be NP-hard when considering general precedence constraints, while they become ...

Pressure skin wounds are frequent complications after spinal cord injury (SCI), with impaired healing due to vascular and immune deficits. Elastin‐like polypeptides (ELP) fused to α‐MSH (MSH‐ELP) or MCP‐1 (MCP‐ELP) are developed and tested on these wounds. The resulting nanoparticles are non‐toxic and bioactive, and they enhance macrophage recruitment,

A nanobiosensor for fast and simultaneous determination of sweat glucose and ethanol is presented. Deposited oxidase enzymes consume oxygen in the presence of the substrates, and co‐deposited palladium nanoclusters catalyze the electrochemical oxygen reduction, basis of the detection.

Ti6Al4V‐Bioglass‐Copper Composites for Load‐Bearing Implants
We have designed and manufactured a novel Ti64‐based composite by adding 45S5 bioglass (BG) and copper (Cu). Adding BG on titanium improves wear resistance and biocompatibility, whereas Cu addition improves mechanical strength while providing inherent lifelong bacterial resistance.

Study of Random Walk Invariants for Spiro-Ring Network Based on Laplacian Matrices
The use of the global mean first-passage time (GMFPT) in random walks on networks has been widely explored in the field of statistical physics, both in theory and practical applications. The GMFPT is the estimated interval of time needed to reach a state

Classical homogeneous multidimensional continued fraction algorithms are ergodic
Homogeneous continued fraction algorithms are multidimensional generalizations of the classical Euclidean algorithm, the dissipative map $$ (x_1,x_2) \in \mathbb{R}_+^2 \longmapsto \left\{\begin{array}{ll} (x_1 - x_2, x_2), & \mbox{if $x_1 \geq x_2$}
