Pressurized Solid Oxide Electrolysis—Operational Strategies

open access: yesFuel Cells, Volume 26, Issue 2, April 2026.
ABSTRACT Pressurized high‐temperature electrolysis is a promising pathway for high‐efficiency hydrogen production that enables direct compression and heat recovery opportunities not accessible to low‐temperature electrolysis. While laboratory testing is routinely conducted near atmospheric pressure, there is increasing interest in commercial deployment

Doubtful Receivables' Risk and Its Impact on Stock Returns

open access: yesJournal of Corporate Accounting &Finance, Volume 37, Issue 2, Page 78-83, April 2026.
ABSTRACT The current research proposes a previously unknown source of risk in relation to companies’ doubtful receivables. Higher relative doubtful receivables present a risk for companies' future cash flows. Hence, the article discusses an innovative risk measure associated with companies’ doubtful receivables.

Hitchhiker's Guide to the Swampland: The Cosmologist's Handbook to the String‐Theoretical Swampland Programme

open access: yesFortschritte der Physik, Volume 74, Issue 4, April 2026.
Abstract String theory has strong implications for cosmology, implying the absence of a cosmological constant, ruling out single‐field slow‐roll inflation, and that black holes decay. The origins of these statements are elucidated within the string‐theoretical swampland programme.

Tessellation Groups, Harmonic Analysis on Non‐Compact Symmetric Spaces and the Heat Kernel in View of Cartan Convolutional Neural networks

open access: yesFortschritte der Physik, Volume 74, Issue 4, April 2026.
ABSTRACT In this paper, we continue the development of the Cartan neural networks programme, launched with three previous publications, by focusing on some mathematical foundational aspects that we deem necessary for our next steps forward. The mathematical and conceptual results are diverse and span various mathematical fields, but the inspiring ...

Powering RCTs for Marginal Effects With GLMs Using Prognostic Score Adjustment

open access: yesStatistics in Medicine, Volume 45, Issue 8-9, April 2026.
ABSTRACT In randomized clinical trials (RCTs), the accurate estimation of marginal treatment effects is crucial for determining the efficacy of interventions. Enhancing the statistical power of these analyses is a key objective for statisticians. The increasing availability of historical data from registries, prior trials, and health records presents ...

News shocks, consumer confidence and business cycles

open access: yesEconomica, Volume 93, Issue 370, Page 648-676, April 2026.
Abstract We study the causal effects of consumer sentiment shocks on macroeconomic aggregates. By constructing a novel instrument based on major non‐economic news shocks in the USA over 1969–2022, and opinion polls around these events, we identify exogenous changes in consumer confidence.

Best Before? Expiring Central Bank Digital Currency and Loss Recovery

open access: yesJournal of Money, Credit and Banking, Volume 58, Issue 3, Page 787-819, April 2026.
Abstract Physical cash enables payments in the absence of electricity or network coverage. Such offline payment functionality promotes the operational resilience and, particularly in developing countries, the accessibility of payments. Central banks are exploring issuing digital cash substitutes with similar offline payment functionality.

Macroscopic Market Making Games

open access: yesMathematical Finance, Volume 36, Issue 2, Page 352-373, April 2026.
ABSTRACT Building on the macroscopic market making framework as a control problem, this paper investigates its extension to stochastic games. In the context of price competition, each agent is benchmarked against the best quote offered by the others. We begin with the linear case.
