Abstract Restoring ecosystems is an imperative for addressing biodiversity loss and climate change, and achieving the targets of the Kunming–Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework. One form of restoration, rewilding, may have particular promise but may also be precluded by requirements for other forms of land use now or in the future.

The Danger of Reverse-Engineering of Automated Judicial Decision-Making Systems [PDF]

In this paper we discuss the implications of using machine learning for judicial decision-making in situations where human rights may be infringed. We argue that the use of such tools in these situations should be limited due to inherent status quo bias and dangers of reverse-engineering.
